We stayed the property in one night. We checked in so late time, but owner’s response is so quick and kind. The room is clean and the stuff is so gentle.

The host Siggy was very welcoming, sat with us at bfast and gave a nice insight of living in Iceland and a glimpse of life in these parts of the country. Our drive here was priceless. Take the 95 coming down rather than upwards from the 1, awesome views.

Absolutely amazing stay
Hello Siggi, After our tour through Iceland we are back home in the Netherlands. We have many memories of this trip, but our stay at Skard Farm b&b remains with us the most. Thank you for the beautiful stories and the wonderful and lovingly prepared breakfast. Good luck and maybe see you in the future! Regards, Marjan and Fredo van Praag

The farm is a beautiful property ~ the drive is about 20 minutes from the ring road and worth a stay; the owner was so helpful with Icelandic history and shared his life as a farmer.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was in a peaceful setting. The host took his time to welcome us and make us feel at home. He did not seem bothered by all of our questions. We learned a lot about Iceland from him. He even sat down and had coffee with us the next morning answering more of our questions. We’d definitely recommend this property to others.

Amazing stay on a beautiful farm
Of all the places our group stayed along the ring road during our trip in Iceland, Skarð Bed and Breakfast was the crowd-favorite. The B&B is in a gorgeous scenic location on a family farm, and tucked away in a spot we never would have gotten to see if we hadn’t stayed there specifically. Siggi (the host) was very accommodating with our late arrival and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was perfect, and Siggi was great company and answered tons of questions our group had about Iceland (and offered some great suggestions of attractions along our route). On the way out we purchased some sweaters hand-knit by his grandmother which are the best souvenirs we could have to remember our time in Iceland by. Overall Skarð Bed and Breakfast was a unique and fun experience with a price that can’t be beaten.

It's in the middle of nowhere and the host is so nice! We had some nice chats and he shares a recipe, he was very interessed and give us some tips. It was very clean and lucky us, there were no other guest, so we had the living room for ourselves. We slept very good. Definitely recommend this if you're doing a roundtrip.

Siggy was a gracious host who shared many stories of Iceland. He suggested a hike behind the property that was difficult but we’ll worth the trek. Breakfast was delicious. The farm was very peaceful. I stayed 2 nights and wished I could have stayed longer.

Cosy guesthouse in the middle of nowhere. The owner, Siggi, gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived and we had a great chat with him over morning coffee. The room and facilities were excellent; next to the room itself there's a well equipped common area with sofas, TV, fridge, etcetera. Excellent bed and pillows. Got a tasty breakfast buffet even though it just the two of us that morning. Would come again!

The hospitality of Siggi was the best!! We felt very well taken cared of, particularly because we arrived later than we anticipated at the house and Siggi’s communication was excellent. After a delicious breakfast, Siggi engaged us in conversation and I really appreciated the opportunity to talk at length with an Icelander.

This place is a little off the beaten path but it was absolutely lovely. It was quiet, quaint, and gave you a real taste of Eastern Iceland. Siggy greeted us with a warm welcome and made us feel right at home. He was attentive and quick to respond to messages on our way in. We woke up to a wonderful breakfast spread and shared in beautiful conversation over coffee. I wish we could’ve stayed here longer!!!

Quiet stay in a country setting
Excellent stay at a nice country type Inn. We stayed in the room with bathroom/shower. There are also three other rooms with shared bathroom. Big common area with satellite TV and fridge. Lots of chairs/table and couch. Ziggy is your host and he serves an excellent breakfast and can tell you great stories about Iceland history. Nice selection of family knitted sweaters should you wish to purchase one at a reasonable price. A hidden gem!

Pretty much similar to what others said. Abt 15-20min of gravel road in order to get there, drive cautiously!!! The surrounding is absolutely beautiful—snow capped mountains, a creek, sheep around the area. Because it’s sort of isolated, it’s very quiet and peaceful. I went out later in the evening to take pictures of sheep around the farm. The host Siggy (hopefully I got their name right!) immediately greets you upon arrival and shows you the best hospitality. Absolutely loved chatting with him. He’ll tell you all about the stories of Iceland you never knew of! I couldn’t stop asking him about how farming is like in Iceland. Very fascinating! It’s a pretty small guesthouse with about 3 or 4 other rooms in total so it’s really not noisy. I had to check out early due to my itinerary and Siggy didn’t hesitate to set up breakfast earlier than normal for me— very grateful for that! Anyways, I would absolutely love to come back to this place in the future!!!

Such a great experience
We arrived late evening, quite tired, to the Skard Farm guest house. Siggi greeted us and gave us the basic property info. We were the only guests, which was actually kind of nice... so quiet and peaceful! I enjoyed a walk around to take some photos before turning in. Breakfast was very good and generous (great coffee!). Siggi joined us and we spent an hour talking, learning so much about Iceland culture, history, current economics, and more. Really wonderful host! The farm is off the beaten path for sure, but we felt so worth it. We slept so well and got great tips for our next day. It would be a good place to come for bird watching, hiking or biking if you had time... We took Siggi's recommendation as we started our day and went a bit north... we visited the French maritime museum up along the east fjords and Petra's rocks and then enjoyed a beautiful drive back through the fjords heading south on our way to Hofn the next night, but even the area around the farm is quite beautiful. Overall - great stay and very comfortable genuine family property and experience
