Hurt back, $15 parking, Arena is no entry
We stayed at this hotel for a music festival. The construction happening in the building did not bother us at all. It was well hidden, with minimal construction noise. We were also notified of the construction prior to arriving. Room service came around BEFORE 9:00am, most people on vacation are either just waking up or not awake at this time. We told room service 3 times no thank you, they came back at 10:00am at that time after yelling through the door no thank you another 3 times we wised up and put the note on the door. Parking in the hotel garage is $15 a day, the parking for events or down town restaurants is only $6 a day and is just as close! Not sure why they think the parking needs to be so expensive. The event was held in the Century Link Arena which is attached to the hotel. This is a non smoking event center, we are not smokers we just wanted some fresh air ABSOLUTELY NO RE-ENTRY. Not for hotel guests or event guests. This caused a huge upset with the smokers, half of them were smoking in the venue or in the bathrooms as this was a 8 hour music festival. Kind of silly, but i wont go to another event held at this arena because i could not enjoy fresh air and i would not stay at this hotel again because of the $15 parking and the bed hurt my back, i woke up stiff every day.

No flexibility with check-out.
We were unable to go on a trip so we decided to take our kids to stay at the hotel so that they could go for a fun swim, We age high valued member of both Hilton and Marriott but we chose the Grove over the Hampton Inn and the new Marriott Residence because the Grove has an indoor pool and hot tub on top floor and has rooms face the famous Idaho NY Eve potato drop. We were advised to call morning the day we’re supposed to check in. When we called the rooms all taken already. We later found out the pool closed at 4 that day because they wanted to let the fitness center employees leave early for the NY Eve. Xavier gladly helped us so that we could check in early, as soon as the room available. That way our kids have time to go for a swim. I missed his call to let us know the room was available at noon. We ended up checking in at regular check in hour - 3pm. They opened regular hour on NY Day so we planned to go for a swim before check out. We called to see if they could get us late check out. Jennifer from the front desk immediately said the best the coud do is to let us check out at noon. We had always thought check out IS noon. And I wanted her to give us at least 1PM. After the new year eve party. we all slept in. We were very disappointed with her decision. We found everyone but her was friendly and accommodating. I had made it clear why we chose the Grove. I’d say it’s not a family friendly hotel. This was our 2nd stay with them.

Decent stay in Downtown Boise
My husband and I decided rather than spending our 10 year wedding anniversary at home, we’d book a room at The Grove. We’ve never stayed there and were excited to redeem our points for a Terrace Suite. Check in was lovely, the gal who checked us in was fast, knowledgeable, and explained our VIP benefits. When we entered our room we were excited to see the size and proceeded to the bedroom where there was an odd noise coming from the ceiling. After going outside on the Terrance, we noticed the gym was on the fifth floor and treadmills were above our room. We determined the noise we heard in the room was the treadmill and the fire sprinkler shaking in our room, after checking above us (via the terrace) after the noise stopped. We spent the evening outside of the hotel(dinner and a movie) and we came back around 1 am and enjoyed the best sleep, on the most comfortable bed. I was jolted awake around 7:45 by the sound of someone’s dumbbells above being thrown onto the floor, and the pesky treadmill noise once again. We had order room service to be delivered at nine and it arrived right on time and was excellent. Overall, we enjoyed the room, but the noise from the gym was a little excessive, especially for parents who came to get away from their three children who make their own noise. If we stay again, we will make sure to stay away from the Terrace Suites.

Good location, filthy accommodations!
When we arrived we pulled the blankets back on the bed and the sheets and a pillow had several hairs on them. There was candy on the floor that had not been vacuumed up. By far the worst was the toilet that had fecal matter still in the bowl. They did send up a maid to clean the room while we waited and she was very prompt and thorough while we were there but for spending almost 400 dollars for a 2 night stay I did expect the room to be clean when we arrived. The room was extremely small! The view was great as we were on the 11th floor. But I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone if the rooms are all as dirty as ours was. I have stayed in a Motel 6 for 50 dollars a night that were cleaner than the Grove.

This was less than an average experience. I booked this hotel over Marriott as it had 4 stars. It surely is not a 4 star hotel. First of all, the construction in te hotel was a huge inconvenience, it was loud and i can hear ir in the room. I even told the staff. The entry was always busy and dusty with workers and materials. There was no lobby. I wanted to meet some people visiting there and it had to be elsewhere. The hotel assured me before i arrived there that th guests will not be affected. That is untrue. The restaurant had limited food and very basic lunch and dinner. Not a fine dining like advertised. Housekeeping was terrible. They left my bathroom a mess. no cups or toiletries were left and sheets were not changed even after i asked for it. I complained but no help. Overall, it was very disappointing and i feel that i overpaid a lot. I am requesting a partial refund for this disappointing stay. Please dont list this hotel anymore.
