Comfortable stay :)
Great stay. At first, I was a little concerned about the location and the possible noise level since it is located in a busy part of Point Loma, but I was wrong. Very peaceful and quiet at night. Front desk was friendly and accommodating. I'd like to think of myself as a seasoned traveler; I have to travel once to twice a month and look for certain details in a hotel. This is not an extended stay hotel (i.e. fridge is tiny, no stove, kitchen sink + all the small amenities like dish soap). Television: doesn't have a sleep timer (I need a lot of white noise more than the average traveler maybe... the whirring sound of the A/C is not enough and need the TV for extra ambient noise). The A/C is also warm... it probably needs to be serviced and I need to sleep very cold; I know San Diego doesn't get too crazy hot, but with humidity, the heat can feel hotter. Bed is very firm. Pillows were of different firmness level :) Bed sheets smell like chlorine and feels crispy, no stains. The room had an unpleasant odor; the drapes looked old and probably have never seen the inside of a washing machine. Bathroom has been remodeled, VERY clean, and great water pressure, which is always one of the most important factors for me to consider when I want to re-book a hotel. Conveniently located to many creature-comfort needs... cafe across the street, good eats all around (who also provide delivery service), and grocery store a few blocks down. All in all, good stay and would re-book.

Poor 2.0
Horrible. Pick another hotel.
We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed San Diego but Comfort Inn should be ashamed to have their name on this run down motel. The only good things were the big TV and good wi-fi. The room was small, dated and dirty. There was black mold in the shower stall and the drains smelled so bad that the whole room reeked like sewer. Our clothes all smelled like sewer the next day after we checked out. We asked for a quiet room and probably had one of the better rooms but the traffic noise was brutal. Loud mufflers and traffic noise all night as the rooms have no soundproofing. The temperature varied at least 20 degrees in the room between night and day. It would be freezing cold by morning and sweltering by the afternoon. There was a large gap around the door and it felt like there was no insulation at all in the walls. The breakfast was the same every day. Rubbery baked eggs and dry breakfast sausages. Ran out of eggs on two out of three days. Waffles were really the only option. We wanted to use the in-room safe and were advised that there was an additional charge! Unbelievable with the high rates that we already paid. The two front counter staff that we dealt with at check-in/out did the bare minimum and did not bother to ask how our stay was. I don’t think they wanted to hear it.

Burning inside with perfect SD weather outside
This was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had with kids. I didn't have high expectations being a low end chain, but everything about our stay was miserable. To start, they were out of roll away beds but had a room with a seperate little room with bunk beds for the same price as what the roll away would have cost, so I went with it. The room was miserably hot, but figured hey, it's 70 degrees outside, let's just open up all the windows and air it out. After an hour of all the windows open, it was no better, so we resorted to shutting everything up and starting the air conditioner. The air conditioner was a joke, it was freezing cold in the first 2 feet around it and burning hot anywhere else. The bunk room didn't have a seperate air conditioner so that room was unusable for anyone to sleep in. We left the a/c on for 4 hours and went out for dinner and to see the fireworks from Shelter Island, and when we got back it was like the a/c might as well have been off the whole time. No one got a good night sleep between the heat and everyone crowding in the same bed because of the bunk room heat. To top it off, apparently there is a smoking area on the roof of this room (wasn't told that from the beginning, and they knew we were traveling with kids) and someone decided to start dragging all the chairs around at 8am which woke us all up from what little sleep we got. I'm out of characters, but the bathroom and shower were disgusting and there was no counter space.

Exceptional 10.0
Great location, Wi-Fi sometimes spotty
Great location and easy access to lots of sights and eats in the area. Try the room with 1 King, 1 Double - it's a cool little suite. Parking can be tight but we never had to park on the street - park on the wharf side of the hotel, that lot is wider. Wi-Fi varies - sometimes it was totally fine, other times it was slow and we had trouble connecting and staying connected. You get lots of pillows, some soft and some harder so your choice which you prefer. Mini-fridge and microwave in the room very handy, good TV selections available. Make your own waffles even offers strawberry batter, very tasty! Plugs on both sides of the beds to charge your devices, really convenient. We would stay here again.

You get what you pay for...
Upon arrival, my boyfriend and I had a very easy check in. Our stay there was very convenient for us and we enjoyed the majority of our stay with Comfort Inn. The area provides great food options, tourist attractions, and only 15 mins away from downtown. Unfortunately, there are a lot of homeless people in San Diego, so just be aware of your surrounds all the time and never travel alone at night. The day I checked out, I had a couple issues arise. Check out is at 11, so I chose to stay in the room for a bit before leaving, but around 10, one of the housekeepers walked in my room without knocking, leaving us both embarrassed. Then about 15 mins later I hear a screaming match between a couple females, which I later found out was the housekeepers. Unfortunately I had to report to the front desk, because if it was disturbing me, I’m sure it was disturbing other people as well. I’m really sad that that’s how a good trip had to end, but it is what it is.
