Hotel Zuiderduin could do with a healthy refurbish. The receptionist whom checked us in was helpful and friendly. The bedrooms have seen better days. The window was all rusty and chipped. We weren't warned we had 2 single beds. We went to the Pub downstairs the first night, avoid, unless you want a small drink at high prices. We ordered a Glenfiddich at €6, it came in a small glass and had at best 2mm in the bottom! We left immediately and went to the square of restaurants and had good drink sizes and reasonably priced. At Breakfast the scrambled eggs, croissants were dry and the fruit tinned. Phoned reception before we went to breakfast to ask if we could have a late checkout, which wasn't a problem. We got back to our room at 13:30 and went down to use the pool to find out from the lady at the bar that our room account had been frozen! We explained to her that we called reception earlier but she cut the conversation demanding one of us goes to reception! My husband was made to walk to reception where they then accused him of lying as there was no proof we had called down, they couldn't prove we hadn't! The receptionist asked all the ladies on shift whom had taken our call but they all said they hadn't so she couldn't work out who was lying!!! They then tried to charge us an additional €50! This whole process ruined our experience. Instead of using the facilities we showered and left feeling utterly disappointed.
