No english or devices TV
For some reason ot took long to check-in, but thats not my complaint. Disappointed that I couldn't connect my computer or usb device to the television. Seemed the system was intentional locked into prohibiting one's own devices. To make matters worse, the television offered netflix, but it was impossible to change to language to english and even worse english subtitles were not available. I found this extremely frustrating considering the films are originally English. Lastly, the breakfast was rather poor consiseeing the price. If they at least had bacon or porridge I would have been satisfied. Considering, I will not return.

Recommended place on Podil
A great place to explore Podil district of Kyiv. It's not where the major sights are located, but there is vibrant nightlife (yeah, Kyiv is new Berlin) and lots of food and drink opportunities. The hotel is within walking distance from most places on Podil. The hotel itself is very nice, modern, clean and comfortable

Great to enjoy Podil district
Very nice, modern hotel in Podil district of Kyiv. It's a bit aside from major tourist attractions, but very convenient for Podil to enjoy its world-class night life, and very cozy and laid-back atmosphere in general

The hotel is quite far from the 'main strip' opposite industrial buildings in an enclosed courtyard with entrance through an adjacent building. It is quite 'stark in a purple way!'. Fairly new buildings and facilities but quite basic. Location is probably the biggest drawback.

You decide....
I have stayed at the property numerous times in recent years. It is a low-cost hotel that is very convenient to the metro and the center of Kyiv. This time, registration had moved to their new building, the gate didn't open and I was tired after a long drive. Then, as I was checking in, they informed me that I needed to pay a 400 UAH deposit on the room. This was new and they could not tell me what it was for, just that it was a new rule. There are no mini-bars in the rooms or other reasons for the charge that I could understand. When I insisted that they give me a record/receipt for the 400 UAH, they become a little more testy. The administrator was there the whole time and he eventually printed the receipt for me. It left a decidedly bad taste in my mouth. They are trying to be more upscale with their new campus as they are trying to brand themselves as "urban". Not sure I will return, which is sad since it is in a great location.

TERRIBLE SERVICE, DO NOT BOOK HERE the bed in the bedroom was TINY, suitable for a small child, not adult size. No kettle in the room, no phone to call reception in the rooms. Hotel supervisor very rude and liar "Anastasiya Zinerych" I told her, the bed is too small for adult, she says "no, bed is good" I say, bring a foldout bed, they have them in every hotel, she says "no, we don't have that" I say, "I will sleep on floor, bring extra bed sheets and pillows. She says, 1 pillow and bed sheet maximum, because not enough"- don't believe this. I am a businessman with great hotel experiences (i travel a lot), she was being very rude and unreasonable. TERRIBLE SERVICE

I have stayed at this property before. It is in an old industrial part of Kyiv. A 5-7 minute walk to the metro, with a small grocery store nearby. The area isn't great for attractions, but it is a great location for quietness and easy access to all the places you want to visit by metro.

OK for overnight stay
A hotel is a pretty good option for overnight stay in Kyiv, not a good option for a leisure visitors. Room is clean but small. My room had a very small window and a lack of daylight. Stuff at the reception on my check-in day and at the restaurant was speaking a foreign (Russian) language to me, while I was speaking Ukrainian - official language of Ukraine. That was very strange as I don't really speak Russian and would like to receive information in my native language in my country. Information letters in my room was also in English and Russian only. Food selection for breakfast is satisfactory, but they have only instant coffee for breakfast :(

Disappointed again
They are adding some "hostel" rooms in the parking lot, via old metro wagons. So, now, there is nowhere to park your vehicle safely. The people in the room next to me talked loudly until midnight, then I could hear him snoring! Breakfast was awful and not worth the extra cost. I have stayed at this hotel a number of times due to its convenience, cost, and newness. I doubt I will stay there again.

Rude Staffer
Overall the hotel is pretty good, however there is one woman that work at reception that is pretty rude and not welcoming at all. This woman probably shouldn't be working in the service industry if she cannot present a friendly smile and kind attitude towards guests.

Very good business hotel!!!
Very comfortable location (close to the metro station), staff was wonderful and very delighted to help with every request i had. The food was such a good surprise, at breakfast they served these casseroles with meat and vegetables which was such a nice change from the regular omelet at all other hotels... They also had business lunches and great dinner menu. Will defiantly come back again

It is not worth the price I had to pay for my staying in Amarant Hotel! I don't mind if a room is small, but I DO mind if I can hear all noises, like snoring, sneezing, talking and even walking - and I did hear all mentioned above. If I liked to be so close to other people I would stay in a hostel and pay 1/4 of the price I had paid for staying in this hotel. The hotel is located not very far from metro station, but not in a nice area. From my window I could see warehouses. The other side of the building is not better - there is a ruined building without windows nearby and a factory on the next side of the road. Moreover, checking-out is unpleasant. I had to wait until the girl from the reception check my room by herself. Do I look like a thief?

Used to be better
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times. However, I was a little put out with a couple of issues this stay. First, there was very little hot water for a shower. During the day, the hot water did not work. Second, there was a problem with wifi, off and on, the whole time I was there. Then, I had pizza delivered to my room from a nearby restaurant, and they wouldn't let the driver bring it up to my room.

Great little modern hotel just out of the centre
This hotel is hidden away on the outskirts, but it is cheap and modern and super-clean. Also, the staff are really really respectful. One of the nicest budget hotels I'e stayed in.

Excellent
Lovely, modern style hotel. The room, (i h, great bathroomad single, compact but really pleasant), was excellent, original artworks. I believe the hotel is new. Location is five minutes from the metro. The staff were exellent. I arrived late, the restaurant was closed, they sent for pizza for me. I only had 4hrs in the morning and the receptionist gave a map an directionts for a three hour walk to one of the best churches ans square in Riga.

Good modern budget hotel
OK: let's get the location issue out of the way. Yes, it's sandwiched in between some small factories in a residential/industrial area about 1.5 miles from the centre of Kyiv. So if you want pretty views from your window, book somewhere else. On the other hand, if you want a clean, modern hotel with air conditioning, only 3 metro stops from the centre at a great price then this is a good option. We chose it partly for that reason at the moment, to be a little away from Maidan in case there were any problems. With public transport really cheap and easy to use it was great. Service was really good: staff speak English; breakfast offering was comprehensive and good. Would certainly book here again.

Fantastic service
I've rated the location and neighbourhood as 3, because I didn't venture out except to be collected by the tour company I was meeting up with. Inside the hotel it was pretty basic, but that's all I needed,p. The man on reception was simply excellent and couldn't do enough to be helpful. Tall slim man with brown hair - didn't get his name but he was very good. They didn't have any food available at the hotel, but I could order in a pizza or some sushi so that was fine for me. Overall I didn't expect much as I wasn't looking for much and the hotel was clean, comfortable and the service excellent - can't ask for more!

Excellent service
I stayed in the hotel purely as a stopover for my trip to Chernobyl during the weekend. I stayed two nights, once on Friday and once on Sunday. So I didn't explore the surrounding area which is why I've given 3's for location and neighbourhood as I don't know. What I do know is that they didn't have any food unfortunately in the hotel. They offered up a pizza or a sushi menu. Loving pizza this wasn't a problem for me although others may not like that. The gentleman who was on reception both nights ordered my pizza for me - and being fussy he got it spot on both times. The second night the pizza guy wouldn't come to the room, but I'd already had a shower so the reception guy brought it up to me, took my money and brought back my change. He was really nice, arranged a cab for me and generally the service he offered was excellent. The room itself was basic, but that's all I needed because it was just a stop over. The shower was powerful and nice. The TV worked fine with over 100 channels, although a complicated system to get it working. Overall my expectations were that it'd pretty much be a bed to sleep in, and they were surpassed. Thanks Hotel Amarant!
