Be careful with the automated checkin
The automated check-in process needs work. Somebody standing behind me or even on the street outside could have seen my personal details including full date of birth in a VERY large font on a large screen. Totally unnecessary.

Super Small
The place is well kept but VERY small. No A/C and noisy outside.

Room was cozy and the bed was comfortable enough. I had to rate the staff 1 star because there are no staff. I'm sure there are housekeepers because the property was clean. Hopefully the housekeepers are paid well as there's no desk agents on the payroll.

Great location
Great location and very clean and nice, but if there is anything happening at the nearby club, it is loud at night. Like, so loud there were complimentary ear plugs in the room. In other nights, it was absolutely perfect.

Loved Galway!
The location was fantastic, close to all of the shopping, eating and sightseeing, but also close enough to walk to the grocery store. The room is VERY tight quarters so being able to getting clothes in & out of suitcases/getting ready to go out or get into bed was a little rough.

2/10 Poor

Avoid! unless you want your vacation ruined!
Where do I start? I emailed the property (through Hotels.com and at info@agtownhouse.ie) asking if I could drop my luggage or check in at 2pm (check in was specified at 3pm). I never got a reply. I checked in after 3pm, got my keycard and left my luggage in the room. I checked the room and there was mold in the shower, hairs on the floor, and in the nespresso machine, mug rings on the night table, and the shower leaking into the bathroom floor. I had to use the mat to mop up the water and avoid a mess on the floor. The next day I left the room thinking that since this is a hotel, my room would be cleaned, the bed made, trash would be removed - all the proper housekeeping from a hotel. But no, I returned later and found the room unmade. I sent a WhatsApp message and left a voice message asking for clean towels, clean mugs. Their reply was that per their policy (nowhere described) they do not service the rooms on reservations of 3 days or more unless requested. Since it was after ours, nothing could be done at the time. They said they would make sure the room was serviced the next day and I would get the required items. Next day I sent a reminder message for towels, mat, mugs, glass, mold in the shower. I returned to the room later that afternoon to find the items I requested, BUT the bed unmade. I contacted them and was told as per their policy they do what guests request and nothing more! They pride on the location and nespresso machine but there's more to a good hotel

Central location
Having read some reviews I was hesitant to stay here. I usually look at the worst reviews and disregard most of them. I really do not like to give bad reviews having some properties of my own. Unfortunately I cannot give this place a 5/5. Pros: Clean ,central position and comfortable mattress. Rooms were more than adequate in size. Cons: Pillows were the worst I have come across. Another guest described them as logs and I do have to agree that this is 100% accurate. The room was so hot it made it sleeping impossible. Even with the window wide open , heating off and the fan going the minimum temp was 23 degrees. More than 2 coat hangers needed to travellers trying to dry washing

Location as central to food and music. Hotel was clean and staff were responsive to needs. It is a no frills room.

The room was cute and clean with a coffee maker and tv. We didn't see any staff while we were there and the check in is self check in but it all went smoothly. The area around is a bit quiet but is very close to the main areas so you just need to walk a minute or two to find something!

Room was fine albeit very small and only good for short stays. No place to put your suitcase. check in easy. Paper thin walls though and could hear people banging about coming back drunk at 4:00 am. Not their fault but incredibly loud outside as we were there for Friday and Saturday night. Couldn’t sleep due to noise. Good location for getting to Latin quarter and shopping but with that comes noise. We were there for two nights and no one cleaned the room.

Rooms are small which is expected. Stayed 3 nights, never made the beds even once. Never refilled the coffee pods or cleaned the coffee cups. No shelf in shower to put toiletries. No luggage rack.

Pretty good
It's a great place. Very clean and quiet. Couldn't get any channels on the TV. Had to use my own Netflix LogIn to use it. The pillows were like hard, round logs. We had to go buy other pillows. Otherwise, everything was great.

Easy to find, and there are a couple of car parks very close to choose from (the one directly opposite appears to be at the higher end of the prices for Galway though). Check in was easy, via a screen. The rooms and hotel were clean and well kept, and there's a vending machine upstairs. The rooms looked and felt quite newly furnished/decorated. There was a fan provided, appreciated as the room was very warm (August), there's no air con. Our room faced the front of the building, and although you could open the windows, it was very very noisy from the pub across the street. On Friday the music and karaoke went on until 1am, and was very loud even with the windows shut (which was uncomfortable because it was so warm). On Saturday it was quieter, but the location is still on a main road out of the city, near some nightclubs, so there were rowdy people outside until about 3am. The rooms are clean and small, without anywhere to actually really PUT things except the floor, which was frustrating. It wasn't even possible to put a washbag in the bathroom as there isn't a shelf/space on the sink to do so. There's a coffee machine which took up half the small table space in the room, but no glasses for use for water. There are a few hangers provided for shirts, but nowhere to put your suitcase. The plug sockets are behind the bedside tables, so you have to actually move the table out of the way to use them. The bed was comfy, and the water pressure for the shower is great.

Convenient spot in the heart of Galway. My suggestion for improvement is to clearly post the explicit steps to get internet working and also how to work the shower- life is too short for these frustrations.
