Lovely restored slice of history.
Had a great stay! Customer service was exceptional as was the comfort of the room and bed. The restaurant was delicious and so was the surprise of banana muffins in the morning. Parking was a nightmare on a holiday Friday night and there were a few minor things overlooked by housekeeping but nothing too major to deter from the overall pleasurable experience.

Love the hotel. Beautiful redo of historic hotel. A little loud because it’s brick with no insulation.

Class and History Collide
National Exchange is gem in gold county. The rooms are amazing, the restaurant is fantastic, and the bar is legendary. The entire experience is worth the stay, I found myself constantly surprised by the quality of everything. The service, the coffee, everything is great. I believe this hotel will get a 4th star rating in the years to come.

Very nice building with updated bathrooms. Bar was busy with dirty tables due to lack of staff. Parking is very limited. It would be nice to have bellhop service with parking issue and no elevator.

We live about 60 miles from Nevada City in Davis, CA and we just needed a day/night away to celebrate our 44th anniversary. We had a WONDERFUL time at the National Exhange Hotel. The check-in person was very kind and helpful (even got a bump-up in room). The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. We had dinner in the restaurant (Lola) downstairs and the food and drinks were outstanding: really well prepared, creative, pacing was great, and the servers were top notch ... we'll be back, for sure!

This hotel has so much history. It gives you the feeling of being in the Old West. The town is very interesting and the people were all very kind. Check out the Deer Creek trail and suspension bridge when you are there.
