The hotel seemed to be in a nice area but we arrived about 10pm and there were 3 or 4 black men sitting, some in their car and a couple more sitting outside the hotel office door, drinking beer and eating carry out food. They did not go out of their way to let us get by to get to the office to check in. The desk clerk was behind a large glass window and it was hard to hear her and hard to understand what she was saying. We made our way to the second floor where our room was and there was another group of black men standing and sitting on the walkway by the elevator, drinking and eating carry out food. It was not a very comfortable situation. Our room featured any number of things that needed repair, like cabinet doors, toilet seat, a/c unit that sounded like a rocket ship taking off when it kicked on. There were no cups or glasses to get a drink of water. I went down to the front desk to get some cups and was told by the desk clerk that the desk closed at 11pm and if we had any problems, find security and tell them.

Most horrific hotel experience ever
ROACHES! Listed as 2-star, & we’ve stayed at many 2-star hotels, so did not take time to read reviews (first grave mistake). Right away saw roaches in room, had to kill 5 or 6. Was already 10 p.m., so went down to front desk to tell why we would check out next morning instead of staying 2 nights. They offered no help, no sympathy, no refund since it was booked thru a third party. Also asked me, "Did you read the reviews?", as if the roaches were my fault. Also said it’s "normal" since it’s sub-tropical. (What about all the hotels w/ NO roaches?) That night yet, we had third-party service find/book better place nearby, & they would try for a refund, so we were relieved. In morning, killed 2 more. (But hotel morning manager confirmed reservation was non-refundable, offered no help.) We planned to get out, but when talked to new hotel, there was an error, & new reservation got canceled. We felt stuck, not wanting to lose $100, & with "only" 6 roaches, thought we could tough it out, so we kept second night (second grave mistake). Returning that night after day’s activities, had another dozen roaches to kill. And that was only the beginning. Thru the night any time we would turn on lights, we found more roaches had come out, so we lost hours of sleep dealing with roaches until things quieted down. Who wants dirty roaches crawling on them at night? Other photo shows filth: took a moistened tissue & rubbed it along floor at edge of baseboard, & tissue was black & full of hairs.

A Good Short-Stay Hotel in No. Fort Lauderdale
This stay was a stop on a multi-day road trip to the Florida Keys and back. My husband is disabled and in a wheelchair. This room was listed as “accessible”, but although it was on the ground floor, there were few accommodations for disabled people in the room, and the bathroom floor was dirty. The shower required a step that he was unable to make, so he couldn’t shower. We made do, but I don’t feel that the room should have been listed as accessible. That being said, the bed was comfortable and there was a refrigerator, which were pluses.

On arrival we were greeted by a group of people in the parking lot partying with trunks open an music blaring, this should have been a sign but we continued to check in. Felicia (host) required a 100$ deposit and had me initial a full page of regulations ( another sign). Now the worst part… the room, only one of our keys worked after several attempts, opened door to horrible musty smells, dead roach on table, graffiti on wall, sand on top of bed, kitchen was totally stripped of any cookware, cups, coffee machine, dinnerware,ext… The cabinet under sink was corroded and moldy, bathroom filthy, toilet seat broken. Security lock hanging off wall. Woken up in middle of evening to someone banging on our door and yelling to us, it was front desk and security to see if we were there. I reported all things above but was told by Felicia that because it’s a third party booking she couldn’t do anything, we will complain to Expedia in morning. Hoping for a good resolution to a bad experience.
