"The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We were upgraded to a water view room and the restaurant was very good. The area is beautiful with nice hikes right out of our door. Went to the nature reserve and did a cave tour as well. Really interesting and fun. The only downside for us was the tour buses that arrived each day which made everything busy and crowded. When the buses left by late afternoon, it was peaceful and more enjoyable."

"Cute historic building, very well maintained and clean with a lot of thoughtful amenities. Everything is clearly labelled and check-in instructions are clear and easy - just make sure your phone has battery. Amenities that were thoughtful are a kitchen with specific drawer and fridge to leave food for future guests, an "honesty" fridge where you can buy snacks/drinks and just pay at the machine at the front desk, and flyers for things to do in the area. They also provided me with a 2200 ISK voucher for Valeria which was super sweet! My room was spotless, as were all common areas. The shower was really nice with good water pressure and my bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up in the morning. There's a patio at the end of the hall upstairs with a perfect view of Kirkjufell. The town of Grundarfjordur is also very charming and I would have loved to spend longer there. Beautiful guesthouse in a perfect location! I hope to be back one day."
