To start with, if you're a fan of buffet breakfasts, you will love Explorer Hotel. It had an outstanding range of options (make your eggs/omelettes, breads/rolls, cold meats, cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, incredible coffee machine free in the mornings) and was continually stocked throughout the breakfast. The room was spacious, all appliances were modern, and the bathroom and shower was great. We visited in summer, but I can see how the place would be thriving in winter, with skiing...

This hotel was great! Such a nice local and family feel. We paid the extra to get the castle view balcony rooms and this was well worth it. The view was amazing and really made our stay special. It is walking distance to the castles and to Fussen town. We hired bikes from the hotel for €13 which made the distances feel even closer. We are very happy with our choice to stay here instead of in Fussen central. Breakfast was good value. Overall great and would recommend to anyone visiting Fussen...
