Hundsboden is on the western edge of the Hochschwab plateau... It is a flat meadow offering great panoramic views of the neighboring ranges like Trenchtling with Hochturm summit (2.083 m, on the left), the Eisenerzer Griesmauer (2.034 m, in the middle) or Frauenmauer summit (1.827 m, on the right). The plateau is actually also a popular skialpinism trip destination.
