Welcome to Heidelberg .. This charming German town was virtually untouched by WW II destruction. The only reported damage was the town bridge seen here. It was blown up in a small section by the German Army when they retreated from the invading western forces. This view is from the Heidenberg Castle overlooking the Marketplace. The town has keep its old world charm with many restaurants and tourism type spots.

"Das Achat-Hotel liegt zentral am Bahnhof, ist aber trotzdem recht ruhig. Die Zimmer sind gross, sauber, aber in die Jahre gekommen, die Tiefgarage ist zu eng für grosse Fahrzeuge, aber es gibt hinter dem Hotel einen günstigen Parkplatz. Angenehm fanden wir die Möglichkeit, Wasser in Glasflaschen abzufüllen und aufs Zimmer zu nehmen. Der Wochenendpreis war sehr günstig."
