Hotel XYZ

6/10 Okay
"I arrived very early about 10am. The polite staff told me if I waited a short while I could check in soon which I did. This was excellent. The room looked small because the bed was huge but this was fine. The room itself was nice and clean, the a/c worked and the pillows were awesome. There was a stain on the bed linen, however; and the towels looked old and grey and could do with being replaced. Breakfast was nice although it was not a buffet breakfast as advertised on this website. "

8/10 Good
"Good cleaning, polite staff, good size rooms. Some room for improvement with room service system and shower setup. Room service recently converted to a digital system, but often missing menu items as meal times change. Had to call to get it fixed several times. Shower overhead is good, but handheld has low pressure and is mounted low."

Zpad Residences

Zpad Residences

4/10 Poor
"Very affordable, but not worth steep discount when compared to other accommodations nearby. The dormitory/apartment setting is very noisy as the rooms are not adequately insulated, and the property is in disrepair. One of the rooms I reserved had an inoperable toilet, and the shower head was disconnected from the hose. If you are a backpacker on a strict budget and are used to hostel-type accommodations this may be tolerable, especially if you plan to spend most of your time off property. But something much more accommodating (with secure entry, included breakfast, working amenities) in downtown Tacloban will only cost you 1000 PHP / 15 USD more per night."
