Hotel Müller Hohenschwangau

Hotel Müller Hohenschwangau

10/10 Excellent
"It was just a short one night stay on a road trip through Germany and Austria. We picked the hotel based on the proximity to the castle and the excellent reviews. Parking was free which was excellent. All that was needed was to identify our vehicle on the car park CCTV to the check in agent, and she gave us a tag to display in the windscreen. We prepaid for our stay on booking, so all that was needed was to pay the tourism tax on arrival which was a few euro. The lady on reception spoke perfect English, was extremely friendly and gave us all the information needed that was relevant to our stay - including the complimentary breakfast timings and location, where to avail of our free welcome drink, and the dinner restaurant menu, should we choose to dine at the hotel. The room itself was immaculate. The building itself had lots of character, and although wasn’t typically modern and “chic” was still stunning. Lots of wood - very German. It was perfect. Our room faced the front of the hotel, so we had a wonderful view of the walk up to the castle and the horse and carriages. Our room had a stammtisch, which we sat in on our arrival and watched the world go by. Room amenities included a coffee machine, complimentary bottled water, and a very small safe (with no key). There was no fridge or AC, but there was a fan in the closet which was excellent and kept us cool. The toilet was separate from the shower which was fantastic. Would most definitely return!"

Hotel & Restaurant Ludwigs

8/10 Good
"Hotels location is absolutely perfect in the old inner city, the restaurant is actually very good and the breakfast buffet is really good value, it even had prosecco should you wish to have a mimosa. Our room was in the second building it was newly renovated extremely clean and spacious ( we had a suite) only negatives were no air conditioning, no complimentary water, no elevator (we were on the second floor) no coffee machine, no iron or ironing board and an extremely small fridge that had no where to plug in. Overall it was a very positive experience and I can’t complain, the staff were very pleasant and helpful all very positive we’re not talking southern hospitality here but for Germany it was good, if you want reasonable priced accommodation perfectly located in the inner city it ticks all the boxes"

Hotel Schlosskrone

10/10 Excellent
"I really enjoyed my stay - very nice room (and not too small), excellent breakfast, and quiet. The only thing to note is that the parking on site easily fills and you may need to park in a nearby parking lot, about a 5 minute walk (they might have valet parking - I did not ask - we arrived late and there was only one person at the front desk."
