Baymont by Wyndham Galveston
2/10 Terrible
"Upon arrival we were not warmly welcomed as one would expect in Galveston. Front desk staff was rude. The property is in need of some major updates and a deep cleaning. After arriving, it was decided that we were going to go elsewhere. Would not recommend."
"Staff great. Good, easy breakfast. I mentioned to staff that I always feel safe there and the friendly lady at check out said "port police don't play!". I had never thought about that but I think she is correct! Safe place. "
"We stayed here for 5 nights with 2 toddlers and when we walked into the hotel the first floor was under construction. It was so bad you couldn’t even walk through the hallway! One of the main reason we booked this hotel was because it had breakfast on site and an outdoor pool on site, well breakfast and the outdoor pool were at a different hotel because of all the construction. Under normal circumstances I wouldn’t be bothered but waking up at 7 am and having to walk to the next hotel over with 2 hungry sleepy toddlers is extremely inconvenient. Now if I had known about the construction and still bought the hotel I wouldn’t say a word, but no one reached out to at least let us know, and I had this hotel booked for a week in advance. Aside from the construction on the inside there was also nails and screws littered all around the outside and parking area of the hotel, we realized because my oldest found some while walking barefoot to the indoor pool. I called to complain but all they could do was refund me a small amount and said “sorry”. Now I accepted our fate and was just going to make the best of things UNTIL we asked THREE days in a row for room service to clean our room, put new bedding, towels, SOAP, and sweep the sand off the floor. Every day we came in to nothing done. The cleaning staff repeatedly told us they couldn’t understand us because they couldn’t speak English. We had to keep asking the front desk for supplies because we couldn’t get anything done.BEWARE"
