"Perfect day. I checked in late at night, but the receptionist gave me the corner room on the executive level with a wonderful panoramic view, even though the hotel was almost fully booked on a national holiday.
The breakfast was better than I expected. Imagine I am an Accor member who just spent the other night at Mercure Tokyo, where their internet breakfast with a touch of Japanese gastronomy. Now, comparing the Marriott Cantho did a great job with their International breakfast, featuring Mekong gastronomy tastes from four local ethnicities, with 50% off for their guests. Lunch and dinner were not bad with a fusion menu, which you cannot skip the herutsge recipe - Bun Mam
The swimming pool was large and clean with nice landscaping. Not to mention the lobby coffee shop, which opens to the sidewalk, letting you enjoy the local traffic and life.
What is more, we can go to the shopping mall and the movie theater in the same complex. Just so convenient. I just miss my Marriott membership!"
"The staff was great but the whole hotel is in need of a good renovation. The rooms are old and lack a clean smell and the bed felt like sleeping on the floor......"
"We didn't really take to this place.
The room was an odd design with an enormous window.
There was no storage space, just a few hangers on the wall (like an Easyhotel). There was a safe built into the only drawer, but it didn't work. The TV remote had buttons for NETFLIX and Prime Video, but they didn't work. There was no tea and coffee in the room. There was no useful information in Reception such as local maps or excursions.
We had been a bit spoilt in that we had just stayed in two lovely hotels in Hanoi and Hoi An which had lots of staff all falling over themselves to be helpful. This hotel would suit a business traveller more than a holiday couple. It was a bit outside the town, 35 minutes walk from the market.
On the plus side it was clean, the bed was very comfy, the shower worked well and the bar prices were reasonable. Breakfast was fine.
It was quite cheap but I think there are probably much more interesting options for the same price.
