Batticaloa’s Lighthouse is just one of the landmarks located 1.5 mi (2.4 km) from central Batticaloa, so you might want to stop by for a few pics during your trip.
From the greetings on arrival to the moment of departure, the staff and owners were only too happy to assist us.
If you are looking for a place to relax and hang by the pool or walk down laneways for 10 minutes to a great swimming beach, this place is just great to wind down from the usual tourist trails.
The grounds surrounding our accommodation had lots of wildlife, squirrels, geese and even some resident eagles in the coconut palms.. For western travellers, it's handy to know that they have...

This was the nicest place we stayed at, with beautiful views, comfortable and spacious rooms and a great pool. Staff were also very friendly and also up for a chat (good at English also). Breakfast buffet was great, with the option of Sri Lankan food and a chef on-hand to make waffles or omelettes. Reasonable price - the breakfast buffet was well worth it. We only stayed one night but could easily have done another. With not much else going on in Kalkudah, more than a couple of days here...

Words can't explain how amazing this resort is. My partner and I have worked in five star hotels, resorts and leading airlines around the world and have worked as an LQA inspector. From the moment we stepped in the attention to detail was on point. The service, the food and drinks, the rooms, pool and beach were all emaculate. The team that work here were helpful and profesional, they were down to earth and truly hospitable people, everyone from the porter to the bartender to the gardeners were...

Pros: close to the beach and has a pool, good buffet breakfast, good room size and comfort
Cons: dinner service was terrible- the staff lurk constantly, one male worker spent staring at myself (a young girl) for 30min plus and was not discouraged by my obvious annoyance. The staff have very limited English.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this Resort. It was right on the beach, the room was beautiful, and the staff amazingly helpful.
There did seem to be an everlasting towel shortage while we were there but the staff were friendly and helpful in ensuring this caused as little inconvenience as possible.
I would highly recommend getting a ground level beach facing room!

We booked this hotel specifically for the ocean view, paid extra for the privilege but were given a room with no view. We asked for the room to be changed as we had paid for "Ocean View". We were told they were fully booked and were unable to change rooms until the following day. We were then shown the room that we were to have. The following day we were moved, but to another room with a partial "Ocean view". None of the rooms had "Ocean views and their website has since been changed to reflect...

Booked a Deluxe room in Jan'18 and was pleasantly surprised not only with the luxuroius room & fittings but to cap it all we had our own private steps down to the pool that wa one of the best we used.
The staff were extremely professional & would go out of their way to assist or make your stay more comfortable, the food was excellent with such great variety- overall a 5 star & more resort on a beach

We loved Passi Villas- it’s very quiet, pool was great and food was great. We had half board with fresh pastries fruit and eggs for breakfast and for dinner a 3-4 course meal- I had the fish every night which was different daily
The management leave you alone and you have the manager’s phone number if you need anything urgently. In the morning I would talk to the chef about what we would like for dinner- so very personal service. If you don’t like peace and quiet then you won’t like this place-...

Super location with patio with beach view and close to dip into the ocean. Very pleasant swim with no current to see lots of fish and coral. All staff were amazing: managers, waiters and the superb cook.
