Green Rich Hotel Iwakuni Ekimae Artificial Hot Spring Futamata Yunohana
8/10 Good
"Just OK. Not a high end hotel but OK. They should tell you about parking - which is offsite. We had to guess where to park. Also, very hard to get a taxi at night. Room was small but OK. Very hard to deal with the A/C controls."
"The change with the initial reservation caused some confusion despite communicating this to staff well in advance. When returning to the rooms after a long day we could not access them with new codes provided earlier in the day. Communication with staff after hours was extremely frustrating as foreigners as they were laughing and not helpful with providing efficient customer service. The emergency personnel were rude and took their time despite the cold weather conditions in the late hours of the night. There was no compensation for the inconvenience to guests."
"Very kind and wonderful staff, nice breakfast, very small bathrooms. If you are visiting Japan to see a loved one, be ready to pay extra for them to be able to enter the hotel room as a visitor. If you stay in a room by the fire exit expect a pretty large draft in the winter. You will be forced to leave your room after a day or so of putting up the “do not disturb” sign for them to clean your room. Be sure to keep the heater on when you leave the room otherwise you will feel like stepping into Antarctica when you come back. Overall my stay was very nice "
"**The positives: *It was an easy stay, with low-stress check-in and check-out, no 'vacate the room so we can clean,' and a vending machine and shelves of manga on the first floor. *I was able to open the window far enough to stick my head out and get a breath of fresh air, which was nice. *The coin laundry machines got the job done: 2.5hrs, 600 yen, clean and dry clothes.👍 **Neutral: *There was construction going on, but aside from a bit of occasional noise during the day, it was a non-factor. **The negatives: *When I arrived, the room had some REALLY dusty spots, like behind the TV and on top of the mini-fridge. As in, 'years and years of accumulated dust.' I get that those places aren't often looked at by customers, but how hard is to clean them once every few months? c'mon now. *The room and the bathroom felt pretty dated, but everything worked, I suppose. *The bathroom had some mold/mildew along the grout, although a bit of airing out the room helped that a lot. You might try that: Open the window and the door at the same time for 5-10 minutes while you're cleaning it. (...which seemed to be something you haven't done any time lately.) *The laundry room wasn't just dusty....it was kinda filthy. ugh. Someone clean those carpets, please."
