El Castillo Boutique Luxury Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Castillo hotel is a beautiful setting with lots of nature surrounding you from ocean views to mountain views. The rooms are comfortable and well done in a Spanish style. Our dinner there was delicious."
"Drake Bay Getaway has amazing views from the restaurant and the rooms. It is very well placed for exploring the area and taking tours. We would like to highlight how helpful Dylan the Manager was. He met us on arrival by boat from Sierpe on the beach and made sure we had what we needed during our stay. The Hotel will be undergoing renovation at the end of the year and this will undoubtedly enhance the hotel access. The path up to the rooms has steps and there is an unmade road but Dylan can help you with his buggy."

"Beware of spiders outside and inside your room! There are poisonous snakes in the surrounding area! We came upon a snake driving into the property. After check out, I found a big spider inside a shirt that I hanged in their closet. The hotel staff failed to warn us about this. We are very disappointed about paying so much to have to be too cautious about poisonous snakes, insects and reptiles! It was our Honeymoon get away. We won’t go back!"
"Of all the places we stayed at in Costa Rica, this one was the absolute best value for money. We made a last minute reservation here for one night on our way back from
Corcovado and I honestly regret not staying for longer.
The property is small but stunning. They appear to not only have a pool but also a sauna. Everything looked exactly as the images online.
Our room was comfortably sized, the bathroom was modern and most importantly had a bidet (which is someone I have sorely missed in Costa Rica since you can flush toilet paper).
Staff was great too. Self-check in was a breeze. I will just say that the rooms on the upperw floor don’t have elevator access and so if you have issues lifting your luggage, then I’d request a room on the ground floor."
"Clean air conditioned rooms. Very nice pool after a day of excursions. Helpful staff and a nice included breakfast. We ate each night in the restaurant which had a great selection of well prepared foods. Our waiter, Bernardo, was very entertaining. When in the area again, we will stay here again."
"Everything about this hotel was amazing! The hotel staff were incredible. They helped to organize everything from my airport pickup to my excursions, spa appointments and anything else that I needed! I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a specialized luxury experience!"
