"Location was everything for us, just a 5 minute walk to Ninezaka area filled with beautiful streets. Kiyomizu-dera and other temples/ shrines super close by. Only a 15 minute drive to train station and Nishiki Market. Was such a good spot to stay while getting out of Tokyo for a few days. "

"The staff was extremely helpful with anything we needed. I had a problem with a train ticket that I bought and they helped me to figure out how best to fix the problem and then helped me to coordinate a trip to the train station so that I could fix it. The staff was accommodating with coordinating our schedule for the breakfasts and for the baths. If you want what is likely a traditional ryokan experience, this feels like the right place to get it. "Great host and communication. The house is cozy and it had everything we needed. The air conditioning was great in the Japanese heatwave. In just under 10 minutes, you can walk to some of the nicest streets in Kyoto with temples and cafes. However, everything around there closes quite early and becomes really quiet - so be aware if it’s not your vibe. Not a big deal for me, though. The only real issue is that the property is not very accessible: the closest bust stop is about 15 min away and...

"I highly recommend staying here. The location was perfect as a tourist staying close to the main sights in the Gion area of Kyoto. I was able to see Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka with very few people around without getting up too early. The hotel itself was beautiful and comfortable, despite the smaller size. I was worried about it being too small for three American adults, but we all fit comfortably and made it work for our stay there. It’s a great combination of old and new; it looks and feels like...

The shower and tub area were enormous! Yasada San was there to check us in when we arrived. He showed us how to get into the building, into our room and showed us everything inside our room. The location is right in the heart of the Hagashiyama District. Uphill."
