"Great location for morning or late evening activities. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating with our requests. Great place to stay with family or as a couple. It was SF at night our teenagers in their own room across from ours. A dim lit watering hole a block away to shed the last hours of the night and great sandwiches next door to take to the Palace of Fine Arts the next day."

"Parking was easy and appreciated (especially in this part of San Fran!). AC worked great. It’s such a cutie little motel in a perfect district.
On a flat part of town with lots of great food choices near by.
Also the walkability of this location is amazing!"

"Yup, the furniture is a little old, but also perfectly functional. A good price, kind staff, safe parking and clean bedding. Conveniently close to bus routes to get where I needed to go. Would definitely come back again."

"The staffs were friendly and kind, and the room was spacious and clean. And the breakfast was delicious as well. The area around the hotel was also quiet, had a nice atmosphere, and was safe to get around. If you visit to San Francisco, I recommend Comfort Inn by the bay."

"There was an elevator!! Great views from 4th floor. Super close to Union, fisherman’s wharf, and trolley cars! Only drop black coffee but that was fine as so many close restaurants. Especially love The Greens and Wildseed!"

This motel has easy FREE parking, it is clean, safe, and well presented and maintained. It is extremely well positioned where walking to great hang outs is easy, and driving to great places is equally as convenient. The rooms are not huge, but large enough for a five night stay. I highly recommend the Star Motel.

Lovely gem of a place. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Would definitely stay again if we returned. Having self contained kitchen was an absolute plus. Staff were fantastic to deal with. Close to amenities, could not fault our stay.

Stayed for 6 nights, room was clean with a sitting area. Coffee machine, microwave and fridge, hair dryer, iron & iron board. Nil laundry but coin laundrette a short distance away. Relatively safe area - around 30 min walk to Fishermans warf & cable car. Safeway store close aswell. Happy with our stay.

Stayed here for a couple of weeks. Bed is large and comfy, and the room is adequate with a little couch. The housekeepers are really nice. There's a little window for some sunlight though you'll want to turn on the light during the day. Great stay, no weird smells. Only thing is you will hear laughing/drunk people/bar music on the weekend nights but just turn on the ac/heater and it will drown them out haha.

Quiet spacious room. Cheap, nice location. No fridge or microwave but has coffee in room. Holds your bags all day. Just what you want if you just want a place to sleep and that’s it.

Great base to explore the highlights of the city. Safe, quiet location with good Indian restaurant next door. Limited car parking so get there early if you're bringing your own vehicle.

We had no hot water for the last couple of days. Reported it the first time it happened and they said it would be looked at but nothing changed. Bit disappointing as it was quite chilly in San Francisco at the time so not pleasant to have a cool shower.

Stayed here with our family of 5 in a suite. It was like a house rather than a Hotel, in fact it was a period house the hotel had joined on the back. Loads of room, and although we have to cycle through the one bathroom it was worth it. Full kitchen and utensils and nice period furniture. Was clean and was not musty at all which was pretty surprising. Breakfast was good and plentiful, and there is handy unloading area out front, and parking for $34 a day over the road. Would stay here again.

Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit the Marina District is during February, November, and December, when hotel prices are typically lower. Visitors can enjoy sightseeing at the marina, partake in guided tours, indulge in delightful dining options, explore charming cafes, and engage in birdwatching, all while taking in the stunning scenery. This approach ensures great value for money and allows for a leisurely exploration of the district's rich heritage and vibrant atmosphere.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover affordable accommodation in the Marina District, consider visiting the Deals or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Additionally, the Smart Shopping feature within the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see the best options available. Stay updated on price changes and availability to book your ideal last-minute getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Being flexible with your travel dates could help you potentially save on your stay in a hotel in the Marina District. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and, at times, better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we will suggest alternative dates that may offer better affordability, helping you to secure the best possible deal.
Consider your location: Opting for accommodation nearer to key attractions or city centres may provide convenience, but it often comes with elevated costs. For those seeking more affordable options, it’s worth considering hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between price and accessibility to the sites you intend to visit. You might also look into independent hotels situated a bit further out, as they can offer a more authentic and generally more affordable experience.
