"The place is very centrally located in the heart of downtown San Francisco. While the area is prepared for petty crime potential it felt very safe. The hotel is a beautiful historic building, definitely needs some attention, but very clean.
The staff are extraordinarily kind and helpful."

"It was noisy because of events, construction and traffic on the street, but I still had a good stay here. I enjoyed walking the neighborhoods of Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, and the Embarcadero, and bought groceries from a nearby Safeway."

"Room was clean and surprisingly up to date. Great area for restraunts bars etc. The only downside is that it’s close to the Tenderloin, which has a reputation for being one of the sketchier parts of the city."

Stayed here with our family of 5 in a suite. It was like a house rather than a Hotel, in fact it was a period house the hotel had joined on the back. Loads of room, and although we have to cycle through the one bathroom it was worth it. Full kitchen and utensils and nice period furniture. Was clean and was not musty at all which was pretty surprising. Breakfast was good and plentiful, and there is handy unloading area out front, and parking for $34 a day over the road. Would stay here again.

Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay at a hotel in Chinatown. If you're in search of distinctive experiences, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and may sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we can suggest alternative dates that might be more affordable, helping to enhance your chances of securing a better deal.
Consider your location: Opting for accommodation nearer to key attractions or city centres may provide added convenience, but it often comes with greater expenses. For more budget-friendly options, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you intend to visit. You might also look into independent hotels located a bit further out, which are usually more likely to be affordable and can offer a more authentic experience.
