The hotel itself was absolutely lovely and very comfortable. Just be aware that there are extensive roadworks in Auckland and Uber drivers may feel uncomfortable driving directly to the hotel.

Hotel Grand Chancellor is an exceptional hotel that I would highly recommend. Stayed for one night because of business and the staff were more than helpful. The rooms were very tidy and had all the amenities you would ever need and more. The gym at the top of the building offers very good views of Ponsonby with a range of equipment available. Forester Bar and Grill offers outstanding breakfast and dinner. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone!

On arrival from the cruise dock, we expected to have to store our luggage till check in. Our room was already available, which was great. The room was spacious and well equipped. The bed was a bit too soft for my husband. This was rectified within hours of him mentioning it. The restaurant was great and staff throughout the property were courteous and helpful. Our only issue was the touch pad controlling lights, aircon and window blinds. Maybe our age was the problem, as we found ourselves...

Great lighting in the room, a lovely view, and very clean. The plug outlets were thoughtfully positioned on both sides of the bed, with good-sized bedside tables. The bathroom counter was spacious and practical. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the welcome drink station was a lovely touch.

Almost don’t have the words for how outstanding this stay was. It far exceeded my expectations. For an accommodation offering of theme, everything about this place oozes class and sophistication. The refurbishment is respectful of the history but modern and appropriate for today. The attention to detail cannot go unnoticed and there are discoveries to be found everywhere. Of particular note, the bed is so comfortable and the linen and pillows are of very good quality. The toiletries provided are...

This has become my regular Hotel during my bi-annual trip to Auckland. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. I love the location and the dining options, which are close to Britomart.
My only minor complaint is that I request a room overlooking Beach Rd however I am always directed to the back of the Hotel overlooking ugly buildings. But overall this is a good Hotel in a prime location.

For those seeking distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you make a booking through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could potentially be more affordable, helping you find the best possible deal.
Consider your location: Staying closer to key attractions or city centres may offer convenience but often comes with higher costs. For more affordable rates, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between price and ease of access to the sites you intend to visit. You might also explore independent hotels located further out, which are usually more likely to be affordable and can provide a more authentic experience.
