This is the second time I stayed here and I will definitely return. The views of the harbor are unparalleled. The hotel is conveniently located for easy access to the more popular cultural sites. Definitely a keeper.

On arrival from the cruise dock, we expected to have to store our luggage till check in. Our room was already available, which was great. The room was spacious and well equipped. The bed was a bit too soft for my husband. This was rectified within hours of him mentioning it. The restaurant was great and staff throughout the property were courteous and helpful. Our only issue was the touch pad controlling lights, aircon and window blinds. Maybe our age was the problem, as we found ourselves...

The location is convenient and a 5 minute drive from the airport with shops within walking distance. We arrived after hours and check in was easy. The pictures of the rooms are accurate in terms of the layout but our room showed wear and tear which is fine for us. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I found the staff nice and helpful, and there was complimentary SIM cards at reception. This motel was well suited to my needs.

The hotel itself was absolutely lovely and very comfortable. Just be aware that there are extensive roadworks in Auckland and Uber drivers may feel uncomfortable driving directly to the hotel.

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Chinatown
Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Chinatown is between May and July, when hotel prices are at lower levels. For a fulfilling experience, staying for at least 2 to 3 days is recommended to fully appreciate the area's key landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions. Visitors can explore notable sites such as the local sports facility stadium, the ferry terminal, and the marina, all of which offer great value for money and enriching insights into the vibrant heritage of Chinatown.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Chinatown, visit the Deals or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Enabling email alerts or push notifications can keep you informed about flash sales and special promotions, helping you seize potential savings. Additionally, Smart Shopping is a comparison tool available in the app that allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see the best options. If prices drop or rooms become available, you'll be among the first to know for your last-minute getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay at a hotel in Chinatown. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer better value. When you make a booking through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, increasing the likelihood that you'll secure a better deal.
Consider your location: Staying nearer to key attractions or city centres may offer convenience, but it typically comes with higher prices. For more affordable options, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and ease of access to the sites you intend to visit. You might also look into independent hotels located further out, which are usually more likely to be affordable and can provide a more authentic experience.
