"Great location and helpful staff! We were able to store our luggage when we left for an overnight excursion. Breakfast was convenient and tasty! Just know if you want to get a takeaway breakfast to book 24hours in advance."

"Overall we were very happy with the stay. Highlights were the central location, welcoming/helpful staff and the good sized room. Property is close to all the attractions and transport. We were offered welcome drinks including wines and some light breakfast/coffee on the day of our departure. Staff helped to make reservations for tours/transfers. We will definitely reconsider them if we visit next time."

We loved our stay here. We stayed 3 nights in May 2026. It is on the marina with beautiful views. It’s a shirt walk to lots of local cafes and eateries and around 10-15 mins to the centre of Reykjavik for shopping and bars. Just a 5 minute walk from bus stop 4 which is where we got picked up for tours and the airport. Would highly recommend!

Gorgeous, quirky foyer. Super helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful room. But beware this is the center of town and it can get lively at night. But you shouldn’t be here to sleep, get out there amongst it. Having said that, the street outside the hotel is nowhere near as loud as other reviews have mentioned (we were at the back of the property though). This is the place to be if you want bars, dining and convenience. Loved our stay here.

The location was excellent. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was great but there were quite a lot of steps to get to our room. Also, tea bags were provided but no kettle to boil water. Minor details in an otherwise very nice hotel.

Really glad we stayed here. Check in was a breeze. Room was large and modern and comfortable. Had a kitchenette and complimentary milk, juice, cereal, tea/coffee. Hotel is easy for tour bus pick up. Dining and shopping is only a few meters away. Close and walkable to downtown central Reykjavik. Would highly recommend and stay again.

This property is stunning. A great host, comfortable bed. Even though parking is not available at the house there is plenty of parking around the property. Breakfast was delicious too.

My wife and I spent a very comfortable 3 nights in Hotel Borg. It is a lovely old Art Deco-era hotel, and has been beautifully renovated in keeping with the original style. It is ideally located in the heart of downtown Reykjavik. We found it comfortable and quiet; just what we needed after 32 hours of travelling.

CityHub Reykjavik is the most compact accomodation I have ever stayed in. Having said that, they organise it very well and it works. We enjoyed our stay and it did the job. Good value for money.

Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay at the Grandar hotel. For those seeking distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and can sometimes offer better value. Consider your location: Staying nearer to key attractions or city centres can provide convenience, but it often comes with higher expenses. For more affordable options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and ease of access to the sites you wish to visit. You may also explore independent hotels located further afield, which are usually more likely to be affordable and can offer a more authentic experience.
