Not good
One of the worst stayed at hundreds of hostels this ranks low, I understand it’s the cheapest and if you like sweating all night with 11 others and music all night from clubs it’s for you, if you’re going to open a hostel in Australia and put 12 people in one room you provide aircon it’s a basic service, I left after one night happy to lose my other bookings then stay one more night

I checked in mid-afternoon on a Sunday and the music coming from the the pub below was already deafening. The employee managed to lock herself out of the office and set off an alarm while letting me into the lobby. It was a long time before she was able to get me my room key. The room itself was very small, with mould patches on the ceiling and large cracks in the glass shower screen. There was a large hole in the window sill that appeared to be termite or water damage - the timber was just coming away in pieces. There was an air conditioner mounted to the wall, but no remote or any way of turning it on. The pillows provided were so old that the stuffing was coming out of holes in the covers. They also had stains and what looked like mould, and other people's hair. I didn't inspect the linen provided because I decided I couldn't stay and booked a room elsewhere for the night. Unfortunately bookings here are non-refundable so I couldn't get any money back even though I hadn't stayed the night.
