Unexpectedly awful stay!!
My flat in Paris was broken into and I needed to stay in a hotel until a new door was installed + other repairs. First I chose I 3 star hotel but because I have back problems, after 2 days I decided to 'try' courtyard Marriot. When I arrived I was given the wrong room, one with 2 twin beds. Once up in the room I had to wait to be moved to a King room. There was an incredible stench coming from the bathroom, even with the bathroom door closed I could smell it. When I called the reception, they told me their technician wasn't available and I would have to wait till the next day. Meanwhile I had my French insurance company to contact, a '09' number. I was unable to call this French number from the room. The reception sent a technician who could not fix this. Then the reception admitted that this was a problem for every room in the hotel!! They proposed for me to come down to the reception and make calls from there, with no intimacy or comfort. This problem was never resolved! On the first night of my stay the only restaurant in the hotel was closed, I don't know why. There was no room service. I should have stayed in the 3 star hotel! Even the wifi was not worked for my computer, but not for my phone, I had to repeatedly reconnect myself!! An enormous inconvenience!

A beautiful Hotel... BUT weak service & nightmare
A nice and brand new Hotel but had to experience a nightmare there... A heavy & thick glass frame, that hang above the sofa bed, slipped from one side and almost fell on the head of my children while sleeping. The frame was very heavy, I would say between 6 and 8 Kg, and was simply hanging, not fixed on the wall (see pictures). I warned the Hotel Reception directly. They checked on the issue the next morning while we were not in the room. Once back, I saw that the frame was simply hanging back as it was before. The Reception Director did not leave any message. I had to follow-up myself to know if it was safe to sleep below the heavy frame. After checking myself on the frame, I took it out so my children can safely sleep in the sofa bed. The next day, I checked out, no message, no apologies, as nothing happened. I received 3 days later, an apology email, offering me a compensation of 2000 points of Marriott Rewards. Knowing that 17.000 to 35.000 points are needed to book one night in a Marriott Hotel, I understood how little is the value of a customer at Marriott. Very unhappy with this nightmare experience. My children would have been hospitalised if we weren't lucky enough. The heavy frame(s) is (are) still hanging in the Hotel. I deeply hope that no one gets hurt by the irresponsibility of Marriott.

Exceptional 10.0
I stayed with family & friends between 2 rooms with King beds, and we absolutely LOVED it here. The hotel was sparkling clean with wonderful service. The staff was very helpful, and even provided us with a wine bottle opener, plates, and utensils for us to have our own hotel room Parisienne picnic. The room was very spacious and attractive. The beds were SUPER comfortable. There was a safe and mini fridge in the room as well. The metro is less than 5 minute walk away. There were plenty of little cafes and bakeries within 2-5 minutes walking distance. Our favorite nearby bakery was "Mon Pere Etait Boulanger" - DELICIOUS croissants, pain au chocolat, and quiches. Fosca (Italian restaurant) was another great place across the street to eat. We also loved having a Starbucks right next door :-) We will definitely recommend this hotel to others, and use it again for ourselves in the future!

Modern, comfortable, convenient to many landmarks
We stayed at this hotel for four nights in September 2019. The room was very comfortable, with modern finishes and decor, and was quiet and clean. The staff was polite and very helpful. When we had a minor issue (the room lights wouldn't turn on), the staff quickly responded and took care of it, which turned out to be a tripped circuit breaker. There are many restaurants close by as well as a metro station, the Gare de Lyon. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk to the Notre Dame cathedral and a short walk to the Jardin des Plantes, as well as other attractions too numerous to mention, whether by foot, taxi, metro or bus. I highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Very good 8.0
Wifi - beware it costs
Hotel was as expected, easy to find, located very easy walking distance from Gare de Lyon (main line station, Metro and RER). Why not top marks - the Wifi was nearly 10 euros a day …. ! No we didn't pay that extortionate amount - my advice, pop outside to one of the lovely local cafes and log on there for free! All the staff were lovely, but a hotel of this standard (and price) should surely have FREE Wifi - shocked. Was this mentioned in their brief - not sure, but beware I did not realised until in Paris.
