The booking was completely misleading, difficult to weed through the small print and overall Expedia did a very poor job on representing the hotel. 1) When we checked into the hotel we were told that the room we booked had a Shared Bathroom. We could not find any reference to this at all. Perhaps it is buried somewhere among the pages of description but there is no question that a detail like this should be CLEARLY labeled on the room description. It was not labeled at all. 2) We chose this hotel because it is listed on Expedia as "Pet-Friendly" and it clearly says that "Dogs are allowed". However, when we arrived there is a Large sign right at the front desk that says "NO PETS ALLOWED". What were we to do with our dog? We selected this place specifically because it says "Pet-Friendly". This is clearly a huge error. 3) We purchased the "Breakfast Included" option. This was clearly labeled on the receipt that we received. However, when we checked in we were told that "this information was not given to the hotel by Expedia". After considerable discussions with the hotel, we ended up getting what we had believed in all good faith to have paid for. However, as a result of what Expedia listed, we felt extremely uncomfortable for our entire stay. It seems clear that the hotel does what it can, but Expedia is not cooperative with the room descriptions. For things like pets- it is absolutely necessary that special rules need to be clear and transparent not buried deep w

My husband and I went to BC for the first time, on very short notice and this place had good reviews, promised a view and was a decent price. We got in late in the evening, and the front desk agent didn't seem to know what he was doing or how to use the computer system. The room was clean, with nice decor but didn't have a mini fridge, so our dinner went to waste. The bed seemed to be a full, instead of a queen and had an extra twin in the room. The room is advertised as a partial ocean view, which is why we chose it over other hotels, but when we awoke in the morning and opened the window...we laughed. The hotels AC unit is right out the window, with an industrial building on the right side. And the ocean view is a tiny little slice that is barely noticeable and not even worth mentioning. The most positive part of our experience was the free breakfast downstairs in an adjoining diner (though the night agent didn't even mention or give us our vouchers), our waitress was the kindest staff person we met in the building. We would not go back to this hotel, its just not worth the price for what you get.

Owner came out to help the staff when they found out i was an Expedia check in. When she saw that I only paid $89 with tax and on her website it was just over 100 with tax. She apparently felt like she was losing money. They put me in room 7 that did not close and did not lock. The housekeeping staff said “why did they put you in this room they know it doesn’t close?” Slept with the table and pushed in front of the door all night. I am a single lady. My friend alerted the manager on that what would possibly happen and she had no concern. Seriously Expedia why would I ever use you again?!? You could have gotten me killed. If using Expedia guarantees crappiest thank you

Old, kind of scary, but comfortable too much $$
Very old hotel. What they don’t tell you is that the rooms share a bathroom between the two which is interesting. Luckily there was no one in the room beside me. Rooms are cleanish. Linen seemed clean but the fan had about an inch of dust on it. Do not expect any sort of luxury here. My “tv” was the size of an iPad. No mini fridge, no coffee machine, not even your own bathroom. The hotel seems like the original styling from the old west - quite scary to be honest. Like something out of The Shining. But the bed was comfortable. I was only staying on Xmas eve because I went to a party and didn’t want to drink and drive. I definitely don’t think it was worth the 100$ a night that I spent there (!) but there is only one hotel in steveston. Steveston is a beautiful part of Richmond. Lots of shopping etc. I just wouldn’t stay at the steveston hotel again. Maybe for 30$ a night. I’ve stayed in nicer hostels. Needs a serious upgrade - they’re just not selling the “historic hotel” thing. Although I highly suggest looking up the history on it. Quite interesting.

Affordable, clean, a good bargain!
Overall the Steveston cafe and hotel was better than we expected. We had room #18, which was a standard king bed room. The room was clean, a good size and a nice view facing towards the water. You couldn’t see the water since it’s a street away, but I enjoyed watching the activity on the street. The fridge in our room did not work. The staff was friendly and helpful with bringing us ice from the pub next door. There is a basket style coffee maker. Coffee cups, drinking glasses and wine glasses (which was nice!) There is a park and running trails very close by (on the dyke). It was nice to walk along the waterfront as well. We had dinner at the pub and breakfast at the cafe. The food was very good at both. We will definitely stay again. An affordable local weekend away for us.
