Good location, and funky hotel.
Great location, great pool and good facilities. Unfortunately on the first night of our stay, there was a loud party on the top floor that went to 7am - did not help, especially from an international flight that landed the night before! Music was turned down when the front desk was called - but would have assumed that staff would have been more conscious of the noise level. Other than the experience on the first night, the stay was pleasant. Concierge team were very helpful and accommodating. Great touch with the free snacks and water in the room. Don't forget to try the ice creamery in front of the hotel - YUM!

Beautiful hotel, but noisy
My partner and I stayed at the SO to complete our honeymoon. The hotel is beautiful and quirky. And the staff are amazing. The only thing we would say is that it doesn’t seem to be as sound-proofed as other hotels we stayed in in the same 200m radius. Could hear everything the drunk guy was saying outside, and construction started at 3:45am! We didn’t have the same noise issues up the road (despite the construction happening directly in front of that hotel).

Excellent New Hotel Downtown Auk NZ
This hotel is amazing. The service was top notch, the amenities were perfect. The decor was fantastic. The hotel is new and modern with surprising and amazing technology. The view was excellent, although we did have a construction site next door. What can you do about that? Imagine the cranes are huge birds. Even so, the room was very quiet; no construction noise broke through to bother us. The staff was at our beck and call, and no request was too trivial. We left feeling catered-to and cared-for. The room was very clean an comfortable and there was even turn-down service every day. All of this was very centrally located within walking distance of great restaurants, shopping, museums, parks, the harbor and even the Sky Tower. the neighborhood felt pretty safe, too. One small thing that took a point away from cleanliness - we did notice that a glass we used was not cleaned properly overnight. Unfortunately, this is common to many hotels, and SO/ Aukland was just another in the line. We do ALWAYS clean our hotel glasses before using them, I suggest everyone do the same. Please, SO/, figure out a way to sanitize the glasses! Other than that our stay was magnificent! Keep up the great work and next time in NZ, this is our home away from home

Super funky & upscale stay in central Auckland. Close to coffee, shopping, restaurants, walking distance to Skytower, Viaduct Harbor, etc. Staff were VERY helpful & friendly. Great stay!
