The magnificent and truly unique Hunter Valley Lodge and Retreat is set on over 5 beautiful acres of lawns and gardens and has been designed and furnished with every comfort in mind. The Hunter Valley Lodge and Retreat is located in the heart of the wine region with spectacular views and minutes from absolutely everything the Hunter Valley has to offer.
This amazing lodge boasts 11 spacious bedrooms and 8 bathrooms accommodating from 16 and up to 33 guests in comfort and style. With magnificent wrap-around verandas, a large refreshing swimming pool and a relaxing jacuzzi/Hot Tub, a huge games room with a billiard/ pool table, table tennis and cinema, a bocce court, outdoor chess, croquet area, a kids cubby house, a huge impressive entertainment and sun deck with stunning views to the Broken Back Range. The Lodge is the perfect solution for large groups or corporate groups that want to spend time together but also enjoy their own private space.

As you weave your way down the tree-lined driveway you pass our two life-sized bronze deer that watch over this very special space. The Lodge’s interior has been modelled on a traditional Canadian Hunting Lodge and Chalet, with the central lounge focusing on a huge stone fireplace and soaring cathedral ceilings, which provide the ambience to the rest of the lodge.

The main building features a modern semi-commercial gourmet kitchen with quality appliances including two large ovens, two dishwashers and absolutely everything you could want or need to create your own Master Chef meal. The large dining area has a magnificent custom-made oversized table and offers a relaxed atmosphere where guests can dine together and enjoy the peace and serenity of this beautiful setting.
The Retreat which is adjacent to the Lodge has its own brand new kitchen and a lounge area plus a further outside entertainment area.

This unique property was built for large group self- contained accommodation in the Hunter Valley. It is perfect for large groups of friends and family and also for small weddings and corporate off-sites and conferences. You can relax on the deck in the evening and hear the roar of the four lions, who are our newest neighbours at the Hunter Valley Zoo. Surreal!

The Hunter Valley Lodge and Retreat consists of four buildings only minutes apart; The Main Lodge, the Retreat, the Lions Den Studio and the Bison Den games room and Laundry. The Main Lodge has six spacious guest suites and five bathrooms. The Retreat, which is adjacent to the main house has a further four spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms. The Bison Den is our games and cinema room. The Lions Den Studio is a quirky modern converted shipping container sitting in a private location at the rear of the property that can be rented in addition to the Lodge and Retreat (not included in price ) giving you an 11th bedroom and 8th bathroom if required. If you have a smaller group then you may be able to reserve the Lodge or the Retreat only midweek. The Hunter Valley Lodge and Retreat can accommodate 30 guests in the Lodge and Retreat or 33 guests in the Lodge Retreat and Lions Den Studio. The complete Lodge can accommodate 28 guests in their own individual beds.

SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security deposit/bond pre-authorisation of $2000.00 is required for your stay and is held against a credit card. This will be processed approximately 24 - 48 hours before your arrival and released 3-5 days after your departure.
NOTES
Weekend Public Holiday bookings must be a minimum 3-night stay at the full weekend rate.
Easter, Christmas and New Year are a 3-4 night stay and charged at the full weekend rate.

THE HUNTER VALLEY LODGE AND RETREAT is situated on five private acres surrounded by lawns and gardens with stunning views over the valley. The property is located down a country lane adjacent to the Werakata National Park and right in the centre of the Hunter Valley Wine region. The property consists of four separate buildings, the Lodge, the Retreat, the Studio, the Bison Den (Games Room) & Laundry, all only 50 meters apart. The Hunter Valley Lodge and Retreat has ten large bedrooms and seven bathrooms and if you include the Studio, which is booked separately, this creates eleven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The full property can accommodate from 16 to 33 guests in total or 28 guests in individual beds.
The property has a small dam and Rotunda and a Bocce court Giant chess set and Croquet lawn in the gardens. The Lodge deck has a large swimming pool (closed in the winter months), a five-person hot tub/spa, an outdoor lounge area and massive outdoor table with BBQ and entertainment area. We also have an enclosed dog run (Pets Pad) and kennel for your furry friend.

We provide free WiFi and six TV areas. The TV’s are located in the second lounge at the Lodge (with Foxtel), in the Stag bedroom, the Lodge dining room (with Foxtel), the Retreat lounge room, The Studio lounge and we also have a Cinema area in the Bison Den games room with large TV, full Foxtel and blue ray player. We have two WiFi speakers and Blue Ray player for music and a huge DVD and CD Library.

The Lodge
The main building the Lodge consists of six spacious Bedrooms – three on the ground floor with two large bathrooms (one with freestanding bath). The ground floor bedrooms are all unique. The massive Stag room with its four-poster king bed can accommodate two to five guests if required by adding another king bed and/or three king single beds. The Whitetail room has a queen bed and king single bunk beds separated by privacy curtains and the third bedroom is the Chital room with a queen bed. On the first floor, we have three large king bedrooms with their own ensuites (the king beds can be split into king singles if required) and each of these rooms can accommodate a further single bed if required.
The Lodge has eight reverse cycle air conditioners and all rooms have ceiling fans and heating. The Lodge has a large central lounge area on the ground floor with huge fireplace plus a TV lounge on the first floor. The dining room has an oversized dining table that can seat twenty-four guests with a second table for a further four. The semi-commercial kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery, crockery and glassware for up to 33 guests. The kitchen also has an extensive range of cookware and utensils. There are two separate ovens plus a microwave oven and two dishwashers. There is a large fridge/freezer in the kitchen plus a large commercial glass fronted drinks fridge in the dining room. Other kitchen equipment consists of blenders, two toasters, two kettles, two Nespresso machines, rice cooker and electric fry pan. The outside entertainment area consists of a swimming pool and 5 people hot tub, surrounded by a large deck. The deck area is covered by shade sail and has a dining table which can seat up to 26 guests, an outside lounge seating area and sun loungers and a BBQ area that has both a hooded BBQ and a flat top BBQ.

The Retreat
The Retreat consists of four bedrooms and two bathrooms – the two bedrooms on the ground floor have queen beds and two king rooms on the first floor have a further king single bed. The king beds on the first floor can be split into king singles if required. The Retreat has gas heating on the ground floor and a reverse cycle air conditioning on the first floor. All bedrooms have heating and ceiling fans. The Retreat has a modern kitchen/dining room with dishwasher, oven, gas cooktop, microwave, kettle and toaster and Nespresso machine.

The Studio (Not included in general tariff)
The Lions Den Studio is a private modern converted Shipping container near to the rear of the property with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette and lounge plus a sun deck with an outside french bath. It has a single sofa bed in the lounge, a TV, a fridge and Nespresso Coffee Machine, kettle and a small sundeck with french bath overlooking vineyards.

The Bison Den
The Bison Den is our games room and has a cinema area with large screen TV and blue ray player (can play music), a pool table, table tennis table and gas fireplace.
