Mountain hotel within easy reach of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
An average hotel. Ok for a short stay. I wouldn't stay there very long as it is a bit…

The hotel has everything you need and is central to everything in Kona. It is great value…

This property would be much nicer if they made any effort to maintain the outside. The hot tub is closed because of Covid but truly the area in back was not maintained when it should have been a lovely space to enjoy.

Great location within walking distance to several restaurants, and a quick drive into the Park (or walk, if you like). Very quiet, nice sitting area outside for each room. Spacious rooms, with all the necessities (coffee, microwave, fridge, glasses, wine opener).

Definitely a budget option! It was really nice to have a fridge/freezer/microwave in room and they even provided some utensils, plates, cups, bottle opener, etc. That was a super great feature!! The location is great for accessing the volcano! We were shocked to not see another person the entire time we were there-they are using contact free check in (we heard other people once or twice). We had our own door in/out of the room, though could also access it from a common area. Cons: I found used, dried out contact lenses on the side table and a hair on the shelf in the bathroom (there’s not really true counterspace in the bathroom). It was pretty mildewy in the room; I don’t think this was the fault of the owners, just the fact that we were in a rainforest. The owners did provide a dehumidifier, fan, and space heater, but it killed my allergies.

We booked this hotel last minute. We were not expecting much but we are so in love with this hotel! The staff was very covid cautious. We had enough amenities and the shower was amazing. The garden around the hotel was beautiful. The location is near all things Volcano. They provided us with a map of the village with places to eat and things to do.

The room was small but clean, the bathroom was recently updated and there were adequate towels and toiletries. Being only a mile or so from the National Park this lodge is reasonably priced and convenient. The in-room fridge/freezer was nice and there was a coffee maker (though no coffee). Check-in is down the road a few blocks but they gave great directions. The dehumidifier was loud but though the lodge was full we didn't hear a word or sound from any other guests.

The lodge itself was ok, nice big open area for guests to go to and sit and talk, however we never saw anyone else. The main office is in a different location and makes it a bit difficult if you need anything. The facility is older and you can tell by peeling wallpaper that it has not had much maintenance. Room was ok, a bit cramped with 2 double beds in it. Nice lani or porch running around the perimeter so all rooms have a place to sit outside. There are actually 4 rooms in this lodge and all have door to the porch and to the inside. Beds were very hard and the blinds in the room didn't work to open or close them. The room is only serviced every 3-4 days so since we didn't stay that long the room was not cleaned. This was ok but something to note. Over all I was not impressed.

We enjoyed our stay at the Lokahi Lodge. We had the whole place to ourselves for most of the day. It was very peaceful.

I stayed here for 5 nights and was very comfortable. The bed was quite firm, which I like, and I slept very well. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was good. There was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in a small alcove with crockery and cutlery. The tv was mounted high up on the wall. The free wifi worked really well. There was covered space to sit outside and I could access my room from the outside as well as from an internal hallway. There was a dehumidfier in the room which I tended to keep on all the time and I think that helped keep it cosy. There was a heater and extra covers for the bed. It got quite cold outside at night.
