Not worth the money
Very expensive for what it is - very small, dark and dingy rooms with broken curtains. For £250 a night, I would expect more. Well located, though.

Pleasant Stay
We had a pleasant 4 night stay at the hotel. Twin rooms were small but manageable. Not much space to hang clothes however apart from this the room was ok. Room was expensive for the money paid however as this is Amsterdam €200 a night does not get you much luxury. Would stay at the hotel again if the price was right compared to other hotels in the Museum Quarter.

10/10 Exceptional

Enjoyable and conveniently located...
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay April 10-14, 2023. The hotel is near Vondelpark and Museumplein (Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh). Also public transportation is walking distance...#12 Tram at Ledesplein and buses in front of Vondelpark. Walking distance to Centrum and Centraal Station and different neighborhoods - i.e. Jordaan. Nearby restaurants with variation of cuisine - Spanish Tapas, Indonesian, pancakes, etc. Staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are somewhat small and lack storage (no closets) and very dim lighting which is part of the building's design with all rooms having floor to ceiling windows. Buffet breakfast has a good variety of foods - fruits, cereals, rolls, coffee, tea, milk, juice, etc. and reasonable price. There is a supermarket right next door to the hotel.

2/10 Poor

dismal hotel
This is not a 4-star! Someone needs to look into it. The hotel offers its deluxe rooms in the BASEMENT. It's like a complex and everyone can see into your rooms. The staircases are like ladders and if someone is walking on the floor above the dust falls on you. There is no wardrobe, no luggage rack, and extremely dim light. There are no mattresses, there is a foldable sleeping bed on a bed box. There are no towel racks in the bathroom..

Darkness prevails... but excellent breakfast.
This fairly new (according to the taxi driver) hotel has succumbed to the modern annoying trend towards all encompassing darkness. Dark decor, dark lighting, dark curtains. And rather dirty windows (on the outside) didn't help. Rooms are clean and well-equipped. Not a lot of space, but just enough. Little hanging space and nowhere to put folded clothes. Pod-type coffee machine, bottle of water. Bathroom good and excellent shower, though again, nowhere to put your toiletries. Staff are pleasant, though the taxis they arranged for us were not "proper" taxis with a sign and a meter, and worked out dearer than metered taxis for the same route. Breakfast (extra) was brilliant with wide choice including pancakes (yum) and various egg dishes. Bread was particularly good, crisp, fresh and fragrant. Position was good for museum quarter and not far from main shopping streets. Lots of street noise in front facing room. Overall okay but not outstanding.

Bed bugs
The hotel is pleasant, clean, comfortable. We found the staff to be friendly. They left my kid a nice note, with a bar of chocolate, on their birthday, which happened to be during our stay. The hotel is in a good location. Unfortunately, I got several bed bug bites during my stay, and that experience has colored my impression of the hotel. This can happen in any hotel, particularly mid-tier/budget hotels like this one. Management assured us that they would shut down the room and manage the issue.

Great find
Great find for a small hotel with unique design and historical elements blended with fun contemporary art. Centrally located easy walk between canal rings and museums but not on an overly crowded or noisy street. Grocery store a few doors down and close to tram stops too. Rooms were not spacious but they were comfortable and the indoor windows to the courtyard helped with the light on some days. Heated floors in the bathroom are super! Would definitely recommend and stay again.
