Excellent, but SO LOUD (alllll the time)
Townhouse is so beautiful and colorful, and the staff was warm and helpful. Everything was clean, well maintained, and comfortable. It's in a great, safe, and convenient part of Cartagena. I find it hard to believe there would be more than a handful of hotels in the walled city that can beat Townhouse in those regards. BUT. Our biggest issues with the hotel may have had to do with staying over NYE weekend. The rates were, relatively, very expensive and Townhouse had a 5 night minimum-- expected, given the holiday, but Townhouse also decided to throw several events during our stay, closed off to guests unless you purchased tickets, which restricted access to several attractive amenities we chose Townhouse for. Having a rooftop bar on NYE weekend seemed worth the 2x rate, until we were told after booking it'd cost us another $270 if we wanted to go up there, so we skipped it. Even after the rooftop bar and lobby lounge/bar both shut down (at 3am) there was still music BLASTING throughout the entire hotel for another two hours. When I asked why such loud music at 4am, even after the bars shut down and guests were kicked out, I was told "the owner likes it." It's ridiculous the owner's private party blasting music at 4am outweighed the guests spending close to $2,000 to stay there for the weekend. If you don't mind an unreal level of noise in a room you're spending a lot of money to presumably sleep in, I honestly do recommend Townhouse for all the other reasons mentioned above.

Upon arrival we were greeted by Maximo with a cool drink, huge smile, and great energy to welcome us to Cartagena and Townhouse Botique. He helped us throughout our visit and always had a smile on his face. He is a huge asset to the hotel guest. There are many great beautiful hotels but customer service is what will make any hotel successful or a failure. Perfect location close to everything and has one of the most well know/best arepa carts right out front. The included breakfast is delicious. Anna was always there in the morning to greet us for breakfast and was welcoming and a joy to get to know. All the staff was wonderful, but these two we encountered often and they were always helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious and very clean and stocked with all our necessities. The rooftop is a special spot to spend after a long day before heading out for the night. I highly recommend this hotel and will gladly book another reservation again.

Amazing hidden secret!
Absolutely loved this place! Only hotel I've stayed that is actually better than the pictures, which do not do this place justice. Originally looking at a well known "luxury" hotel down the street when stumbled across this place. Definetly "boutique trendy" vibe. Location is great, free breakfast is delicious and super generous, rooftop has amazing views, relaxing vibe, good music (which you may hear till later in the night from your room but was not bothersome for me) , small dipping pools, good food and drinks. Loved the bird artwork and colors in hotel, I also liked that the rooftop was open to the public so the crowd varied throughout the days/nights. All our servers were gracious and accommodating (we all wanted to pack Miguel in our suitcases home :). We stayed in both the 2 bedroom suite and deluxe room. Both were extremely spacious with very comfortable beds, free Nespresso makers. Only issues we had was my booking was charged twice and it took multiple calls to the hotel and many months to get the extra charge reversed, which it finally did.

Perfect!
Loved it! The staff I interacted with were all extremely nice and helpful. Also, quite a few spoke English, which is good because my Spanish needs work. My room was very spacious - ample bed and additional sofa and coffee table. It was also nice and cool. Had all the amenities of a modern hotel. The rooftop pool / bar was also pretty good. The pools are a bit tiny, but good for dipping feet in. Got a few mixed drinks which were pretty good. The included morning breakfast was SO good, especially the omelet on top of arepa. Location is great too, with good bars and restaurants within walking distance. The staff was naturally also helpful in making recommendations for food and bars. It's a bit pricey but you absolutely get what you pay for. If I stay in the Old City again, I'll definitely strongly consider the Townhouse Boutique. One nitpick is they need a credit card number for incidentals on check-in. Generally it's bad security practice to write down your card number. They only charge you on check out anyway, so it would be nice to not have to do this.

10 STARS!!
My stay at Townhouse was nothing short of amazing! The staff was great! Free breakfast exceeded my expectations; coffee, fruit, yogurt with granola, entree (eggs with arepas or avocado toast), and juice. The room was large and clean and the sheets smelled exceptional. Turn down service in the evenings was a pleasant surprise as well including free water in the room. From my room on the 3rd floor, I could hear the music from the rooftop bar, but that didn't bother me at all because upon booking, I was fully aware there was a rooftop with nightly music. The food and drinks on the rooftop are delish as well. Definitely, recommend staying at Townhouse. Centrally located within the walled city with some of the best views. Wi-Fi worked great!
