Poor 2.0
Not up to scratch at all
On the outside this Selina matches the trendy and impressive vibe of the Selina chain. However the dorm room itself was not up to Selina standards by a long shot. The dorm room was cramped and crammed with as many bunks as was possible to fit, without any consideration of space needed for luggage/ lockers etc. The bunk beds were a rickety, poor quality so you can feel every movement of the person sleeping above or below you. The dorm room was stuffy and has only one tiny (jail cell style) window. There was a gross leak in the ceiling that was dripping onto my luggage. The bathroom was clean but very small with no ventilation. The check in/checkout process was extremely slow and painful. No blanket was provided with the bed, so with the air con on (no option to change the settings) I was cold through the night.

In the middle of it all- including loud nights
My husband and I are young(ish) in our early 30's. We love traveling and being in the middle of everything to walk to. Selina was great in terms of location, but we had a few other issues. First, we arrived at 1pm, and checkin is at 3pm. We could see empty rooms, but they wouldn't let us check in until 3pm. We had to sit in the hotel pool area on the roof for 2 hours in clothes we just wore for hours on our flights from the U.S., since they didn't have a private/secure bag check. We were only in town for 2 days, so this really was a huge bummer. That night after walking all around the city, we came back to the hotel after dinner in hopes of a good sleep so we can get up early the next morning to explore. However, the roof deck hosts a disco at night, and we heard blasting techno music from 8pm until almost 2am. There was no TV in the room to help drown out the music with white TV noise. Our mattress in the hotel room was rock hard. I felt safe in the area, and the hotel was decorated beautifully. I really enjoyed the looks and location.

Exceptional 10.0
Modern design, safe and clean building
This was in a busy and convenient location of Getsemani. We had a deluxe private room that felt very secure and the decor was modern and comfortable. The only bad experience we had was that we showed up for the free salsa class and the instructor did not. We also did not get great wifi here. We loved that there was a 24hr security guard, and that the front desk employees all spoke english.

overall positive, 2 buildings one quieter, one more lively with the rooftop bar. Good rooftop bar views. Staff okay. Not in the historical center but walkable.
