Convenient location with excellent breakfast
Short walk from Baixa-Chiado metro. If you arrive early, you can store your bags & the staff will take them up to your room. 2 sitting areas for breakfast, with a delightful scavenger hunt for breakfast-hot items in the kitchen, one room with fruit plates, yogurt, and meats/cheeses, and one room with sweets and pastries. Minor suggestions would be to include a bath mat & a second waste basket in the room, as the bathroom waste basket was rather small. There was some temperature fluctuation with the water in the shower (even the cold water was hot one day), but we mentioned it to staff when we checked out & they said they would have maintenance look into it. A scald guard would solve that problem if there was a retrofit for the plumbing. Would stay here again!

A wonderful stay!
I had a wonderful stay for 3 nights in April. This hotel is very central and great for exploring the city. The style and decor feels very grand and offers something different to a modern/chain hotel. My hotel room was one of the smaller rooms but was still exceptional and had everything I needed, including a pretty little balcony that overlooked to rooftops of the city. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and professionally presented. The breakfast had an incredible spread, including Pastel de natas, a real indulgence! They also had a pianist playing at breakfast and sometimes during the evening, which gave a special ambience to the place. I felt overall it was great value for money and I would highly recommend a stay here.

High Sophistication With The Kindest Staff
My husband and I were looking for a posh night's stay in Lisbon while meeting some friends from out of town. Palácio das Especiarias delivered in every single way. The entire property is dripping in sophistication. Comfy beds, soft terry bathrobes, large rain shower, balcony overlooking the Tagus river, to the violin and piano player at brunch. All first class. The best part? The people. Carla and Luiz treated us like family (the kind of family you really love) from the moment we arrived. Their humor and kindness are unparalleled and we cannot wait to go back for a return stay. Even though we only live 40 minutes away. Go. Book this stunning property. You will not regret it. My one regret? I didn't realize there was a spa with many free options. I must go back now. Thank you!!
