    Not worth the money

The glass barn door toilet stall was a joke with no fan in the toilet area, the glass door on the shower wouldn't close due to a crack on the lip of the shower & water got all over the floor (no grip, super slick tile & only one thin towel rug), the sink had gunk in the crevasse that was greasy & gross, the grouting looked unfinished, the bed was very comfortable & the staff seemed nice but the front desk rings & rings & rings! I can see they tried to make it upscale but rushed the details & really failed to reach the mark. This is a no privacy room, only to be occupied with someone you don't mind using the toilet with them watching. The off site parking was incredibly inconvenient, overall I have had nicer stays at a red roof for half the costs

    Okay at best.

The cleanliness and staff were excellent. The room itself was eh. Very small. Tight quarters. The bed was really nice and in a very cool spot next to the window with a shelf above the headboard and a TV above the footboard. Perfect for hanging out and relaxing. But the comfort ended there. Right next to the bed was a small counter with a minifridge inside(near the foot of the bed) and a small fold out desk(near the headboard). Right next to the desk was the sink for the bathroom. The toilet and shower themselves were disconnected from the sink in their own seperate "room" if you could even call it that. The "room"s walls were just heavily frosted glass that you could still see through to an extent, especially if you were close to the glass, which was very easy to do considering the space of the room. The door to the toilet and shower area was a sliding one that didnt even stay closed. It liked to open on its own. I think this feature may have been broken, but even if the door stayed closed the bathroom had a very uncomfortable feel overall. With the room being so small and the bathroom being so open, it almost felt like someone just shoved a bed inside their bathroom and called it a hotel room. Not sure I would stay here again. For the price, the room did not match what is expected. They do not offer parking or vouchers for parking offsite, it cost me over $50 to park my car for less than two days. There are a lot nicer other hotels to stay at in Salem in my opinion.

Parking stinks, but would still recommend

Yes, the parking for this hotel is nonexistent, and you have to try to figure out how to get to the entrance (directly off of Essex), but we did our research and knew that so we were prepared. On-street parking in town was not difficult for us to find and not terribly expensive. Otherwise, this place was clean, the staff was all very friendly and helpful. A couple items (bedside light, toilet roll holder) were broken prior to us so it def could use updating. But I would recommend staying here. You simply can’t beat the location .

    Love the place

Room and overall hotel was top notch clea. in my opinion this hotel is the best one to stay at because it’s in the best location . the front desk was extremely friendly , all three people that I dealt with were super helpful! the bed was very comfortable! The only thing that is even remotely negative that I could say is when I was trying to go to sleep it was kind of loud in the hallway But my room was positioned first so it was the one that everybody passed to walk through so that was probably just bad luck for room location

    Great location, tiny room

Hotel was in great location, room was clean and staff very friendly. My only complaint was in paid for 2 bed but had to settle for one king in a very small room. When I say small I mean small, I had a bigger room on a visit to Japan. Room was size of a large closet

    Totally recommend!

Great hotel!! A friend of mine and I stayed here for two nights in July, 2021. The location is stellar! Very cute hotel! Great little bar! Extremely walkable. Lots of dining options and entertainment . Very nice staff! No coffee maker in the room FYI, but they have it in the lobby from 7 to 10 AM. The only thing we weren’t happy about was the parking. No one told us where to park so we had to call. Also, the shower could’ve used some cleaning before we arrived and some general maintenance. Parking was quite a distance from the hotel. FYI. You cannot drive to the front of the hotel.

    Parking is a huge issue.

The parking situation was horrible. You have to walk about 1/4 of a mile from the public parking Garage while wobbling through the cobblestone street with the luggage. I would not stay again based on this single issue. Stayed 2 nights. Didn’t get any maid service. Had no conditioner, though expected it would be filled later Day 1. Walked down on morning 1 at 9:58 and the coffee was put away. I had to go down the street and stay in line for 20 minutes for a cup of coffee.

    Truly disappointed

Difficult place to find, booked online with a king bed. Went to the room and couldn’t walk around the bed. Was given a suite for the overly priced king closet and then the lights didn’t work. The front desk never said there was a master switch. The room had uneven floors through out the uni, unfortunately I had vertigo from the closet room my daughter and myself couldn’t move around without being in each other’s space.and it continued in the supposed suite. Wouldn’t recommend the place. At the end of our stay we were given a $30 off for our next stay. What a joke! Food at the restaurant was good, that was the only good part of our stay at the place.

The room as beautiful, staff accommodating, and food was delicious at roof top restaurant which was amazing!. The only thing I did not like was that the toilet and the bathroom were separated and across from each other rather than together but that is a personal preference I am sure.

    Highly Recommended

Hotel Salem was amazing. We stayed in the king suite, which was perfect for my family of three. The room was awesome! Very trendy. You couldn't ask for a better location. The roof top bar is a major bonus. The staff were all wonderful!
