The modern property was excellently finished and had all the amenities you need. Small touches like a free to use coffee machine and free mini fridge made the stay even more pleasant. A cleaner was on hand every day to make up our room to ensure it remained clean. The only slight issues I could say is that there isn’t a great deal of sound insulation which meant you would hear every disturbance through the nights. There also wasn’t much storage for our clothes which wasn’t too much of an issue, but would’ve been nice if we could’ve hung more of them up on the hangars provided.

Excellent apartment situated opposite the Sorrento train stationmaking finding it after taking the train from Naples easy. An ideal location, if you don’t have transfers you’re not faced with dragging heavy luggage in the heat through Sorrento, the town and beach are just a 5 minute walk if that. You get the best of both worlds, the proximity to the station and main bus stops means getting to the Amalfi cost via public transport is easy and the airport bus leaves from here too. It was also a pick up point for local tours like the one we took to Capri and there’s a tourist information office and small newsagents opposite. The Marina is approximately a 5 minute walk to catch local ferries but the bus to Positano for example was just €2 anyway. The accommodation itself was clean and modern with an amazing Queensize bed and powerful shower. The room was spacious with a great coffee machine and complimentary drinks in the fridge. There’s also a small area in foyer where drinks are provided and free cakes in the morning and throughout the day which was a pleasant surprise. This included premium branded spirits should you fancy a tipple and water, all complimentary. Pasquale the owner our host couldn’t be more accommodating and helpful. He showed us round and spoke English, very helpful. He gave us a local map and walking directions to the main areas, places to eat and info on getting along the coast and to Capri. We’ve already looked to book again.

Location is excellent. You are at the bottom end of the main road in Sorrento, conveniently next to Sorrento light rail station which will get you to Pompeii, back to Naples etc, we spent hardly anything on taxis. The rooms are newly fitted out, the photos are realistic to the style and condition of rooms. Staff all really nice, mini bar is topped up free every day (soft drinks). Complimentary drinks and light bites provided in reception. Obviously no pool/gym facilities but it’s not the kind of destination you go for sunbathing etc. All being said, being an apartment style setup but we were pleasantly surprised by the little touches.

La Ferrovia was an excellent and fortuitous find. Located steps away from the train station, we could not have asked for a better location. Pasquale was an excellent and accommodating host. The room and inn are tastefully decorated and furnished in a modern and industrial style. A Nespresso machine and pods are provided in the room. The common area has a large capsule coffee machine and there are always snacks available, including some cereal for breakfast. I highly recommend this place and would certainly want to stay there again if I were to re-visit Sorrento in the future.

The young lady who was there happens to be the most helpful and sincerest person we've met in a hotel! She was so accommodating and very helpful in our every needs. Room and bathroom were immaculate and new. Free coffee and drinks and it's right in the middle of town. Just a word of advice, please let guests know how much it costs to park per night in the car park better. Otherwise, a splendid stay!
