Tiny room and bit far from airport
Hotel VIC is a bit far so prepare yourself to pay about HK$430 for Taxi from airport to the hotel. The room is really small and there were no drawers or workable closet to unpack your clothing. There is also not much room left for you to walk around in the room once the space is used for your luggages. The hotel is new but very far away from any places. Hong Kong is kind of old and dirty and this is kind of shock because I thought it would be like Japan or Singapore but it is not. The cars used for Taxi were so old and never changed. The city is cramped with so many people. However, we found the 2nd floor Chinese Restaurant is really good. They serves excellent seafood but you have to reserve the type of seafood you want to eat then they will make it for you later. We stayed at executive floor which is 22nd floor. The staffs work there are very polite and helpful with directions. Again, the room is so small and it is bit far so if you do not mind these flaws then this is the hotel for you.

    Nice View, Horrible Customer Service
Our first room had a bad smell of cigarettes and almost like a wet mould. I called reception, they initially suggested to come spray the room or a air purifier. I told them how disappointing that is, given the price we paid for a room with a sea view. They then changed us to a new room on the 22nd floor which was fine. On the final night we wanted to extend the room to meet my midnight flight, they said it would be a “half day rate” which I was fine with, but I had to leave the room by 7pm, which was 6hours extra for half a day charge. I was extremely disappointed with the way they explained and tried to reword it to be a late check out fee. Management and staff both couldn’t explain themselves. Would never stay at this hotel again, location is ok, quite new, but the service was subpar for a Hyatt hote, especially as a World of Hyatt Member.

Booked this hotel because it was a great deal. The hotel itself is very nice. New and clean. The pool area and roof top lounge were both excellent with great views of Hong Kong. Had booked rooms with Lounge access. Stood inline to check in for 45 mins and then was told I could have gone directly to the Lounge to check in. A member of staff then took me upstairs where they managed to give us 2 rooms close together. Breakfast everyday for our 5 night stay was the same and very limited. Tea was the same. Dried sandwiches and tea/coffee from the machine. Cocktail hour- great variety of drinks but the snack were not worth going up there for. Again the same every day. Ordered room service - steak, roast potatoes and veggies. They brought Steak and fries!! Room service guy was unfriendly. Next day ordered a Salmon sandwich from the Deli. Waited 20 mins to see it was a vegetable sandwich. They replaced it but a total waste of time. Ate at the Farm House one evening. Portions were really small and service was nonexistent but prices were high. Unfortunately, there was no good restaurants in the area to eat at so it was a shame the hotel restaurants did not meet expectations. North Point Station was a 5 minute walk which made it great to catch a train and go places but we found with a family of 4 it worked out the same price as a taxi. To get a taxi at the hotel- it took some time because the entrance is not on a main road but the staff work hard to get one for you.

    Clean and New
All good and convenient to MTR and Ferries... nice pool and gym...great view of harbour. room I stayed didn’t have bath tub which was a major disappointment to my children, when I booked I just assumed a 5 Star hotel would have tubs in all rooms... also there was a stinky smell in our room, told room service and they put a machine in our room to try and resolve issue, which didn’t work but we got use to the smell after a while, it’s just when you return to your room after a day out, the odour is very obvious... also the female sauna and steam rooms were out of order for the entire stay, which we weren’t notified about... apart from these faults, everything was great and would stay again if need be in the area.

Hotel Vic is minutes away from the MTR North Point station. I got a 18th floor upper harbor front room with corner view of the harbor. I had to close one side of the blind to get a bit more privacy from the buildings across. My room was spotless and roomy. Even this side of the harbour isn't prime view in central but I particularly enjoy taking showers while looking out to the harbor. If you are not afraid of dark, try to turn off the light while you shower at night, its quite an experience. I am not a big fan of the breakfast buffet just because i ate breakfast at Hyatt Regency just a week ago. By comparison, Hotel Vic scored a lower mark on food varieties and diming experience. However, hotel guest received a 30% discount if you reserved ahead of time at Hotel Vic. The pool on top of the building have a sweeping view of the harbor but the pool is relatively small. Lots of people just walked around the pool and take pictures.
