Highly Recommended
Lovely find in Castle Douglas. The staff were friendly and helpful. The locals were friendly too. Bar was well stocked. Room was clean and large with everything you need in it. Easy to come and go as you please. Breakfast (and the service) was 10/10. Plenty of parking at the rear. Can't recommend enough.

Disappointing
The hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade. We had a heater in the room that kept switching on and off if we moved. It wasn’t the quiet Wednesday night we expected. The bar played the juke box until 2245 and you could here all the pub goers until they left at 2320.

Comfortable hotel stay.
Pleasant two night stay at this hotel, room was clean and comfortable and i think freshly decorated recently. Friendly and helpful staff and good service at breakfast, ample free parking at the rear of the hotel but front entrance narrow for car width, better entrance from rear of hotel in the road behind.

Brilliant All Round And Dog Friendly
Staff exceptional, Friendly, Attentive, Extremely Understanding, Very Helpful and had Fantastic Patience with our Dogs. The only thing that we found problematic was the bed we had in room 3, it was very uncomfortable and very noisy on every movement, for example turning back and forth. However, its only fair to say that we never made any complaint about this, nor the fact that the only seating area was the bed, hence the constant noise.
