    Profile: Akasaka

    Profile: Akasaka

Tokyo's Akasaka is the closest shopping and entertainment district to Nagatacho, Japan's center of politics, and Roppongi, the city's cosmopolitan nightlife district. Akasaka strikes a classy balance between the two, considered livelier than Nagatacho, yet more elegant than Roppongi.

Take a stroll along the elegant upper ground, through winding streets that depict an affluent Tokyo. The low ground is more entertainment oriented and charms visitors with its narrow, cobbled streets of endless bars and pubs. The main shopping and dining area is across from the Akasaka Excel Hotel Tokyu and showcases elegant offerings, certain to please every taste.

Location and staff fantastic. Perhaps a little expensive considering no Gym and the size of rooms but otherwise very nice stay and good hotel.

There’s unbelievably no mattress on the beds in the room but the mattress bases! I moved away from the reserved room after all.

      Tiny but cozy.

Nice comfortable room, small and modern and tasteful, but pretty much windowless (tiny opaque window directly facing a wall) - which didn't bother us much though. Quiet despite being in a lively part of town. Recommended.

Well located boutique hotel, small rooms per Japanese standards but nicely Japanese wood touch. It’s in entertainment area with lots of restaurants around so no need to look far to eat. Close to transportation but need take train to visit attractions as none nearby. No amenities and a breakfast I will pass.

Good design in good location Many restaurants around down to building Rooms a bit small but have Japanese feel design The hotel has a Japanese bath on top level Restaurant has breakfast but not recommend charging 1,800yen and not very good to say the least You can have a good coffe cross the street in an antique coffee shop from 1948... memorabilia after the war made of wood so try a small 1 room hotel above.
