Relaxing and friendly
Hostel is really modern. Stay here if you want relaxing and friendly hostel. Not a party hostel. Staff isn’t that well trained so sometimes it’s hard to find a answer.

Byron Bay hostel currently in the lead
Byron Bay Beach Hostel is the newer fit-out of the handful of hostels in Byron Bay. If you're reading this review, you're probably weighing the BBBH up against the YHA which, for good reason, is and should be the default starting point for backpackers and independent/budget travellers. In this case the BBBH edges in the lead. The location is amazing, a block back from the beach and just minutes walk from the Beach Hotel. An amazing Malaysian restaurant just outside is always popular (if you can get a table) and it's only a few minutes walk to the ever popular Bayleaf (maybe the best food in Byron Bay). As for the hostel itself? A clever layout featuring a centre atrium (think North African medina style) results in those sea breezes being a regular flow throughout the whole building. There's no air conditioning but it feels like it - although at the peak of summer your multi-person dorm might feel hot (lots of doors propped open to get at that centre breeze). The private rooms are cooler and those with the balcony are in demand. The BBBH on any time I've passed through feels like a good mix of travellers. Expect the usual noise from a beachside hostel in a popular place like this. Free parking is great, the bar is surprisingly large and comfortable, and the team keep a clean facility. So by now you can probably just book already. How many reviews do you need for a beach hostel?

Great location, not so great stay
The hostel is very central to everything, really great location. Beautiful open space and vibrant looking hostel. Rooms were disappointing, booked a double room for two and it was literally two bunk beds and not a single thing in the room except a terrible fan. It was so hot in the room we hardly slept that night and I struggled to get ready in the morning as I was sweating so much. Were not provided with towels or blankets - so bring your own. Great for just a one night and cheap stay, but if you're looking for comfort this isn't the place. I would definitely rather have paid the little bit extra for a more inviting and comfortable room, I have stayed in hostels before - by far the most uncomfortable.

Amazing hostel
Right on the heart of Byron, beautiful hostel. Could be the best kitchen I have ever seen for a hostel, extremely funtional which was great. The rooms were cleaned and spacious. Loved it.
