Profile: Charlotte Center City

Profile: Charlotte Center City

Charlotte Center City is packed with gleaming skyscrapers, modern hi-rises, and sports arenas. It’s a place where banking bigwigs hustle on their way to investment meetings, NBA fans dash to the Time Warner Arena, and motorsports devotees sprint down to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Here, you can test your driving skills in an 8-car race simulator and learn about the history of NASCAR.

Music-lovers should head to Charlotte’s hippest music venue, the Fillmore Charlotte. A sister to San Francisco’s legendary Fillmore, the Fillmore Charlotte has its own oak-wood hard floors, vintage band posters, and red-painted decor, just like the original.

On a quick business trip. Location was great with regard to Belk Theater across the street literally. The hotel was quiet which was needed for work and the staff was very accommodating. Did not try any of the amenities. Would stay there again better than the big chains in the area.

    Overnight Stay

The pictures on the website are exactly what you see in person. The check-in time was @4, I was able to check in about an hour earlier. Only 2 levels, 47 rooms, so there was no heavy flow of people. Very, very clean, vibrant colors, and quiet. The staff was polite but they were not informative to make visitors want to come back to their city or their hotel. There was not a menu to order for room service. Outside the hotel, in the daytime it's not as busy but around 6 pm, uptown Charlotte is busier than a bee. It's like a total different place. If you are a light sleeper, you probably won't get much sleep on the weekend. Everything is to the right of the hotel. I was only there for an overnight stay. Next time I hope to catch a football, basketball game, visit the Nascar museum, or what all Charlotte provides. I was not let down by the hotel but the cost didn't equal to the experience. I'm a traveler that likes to stay in nice hotel rooms that were way less expensive but had top notch customer service.

    Quaint Upscale Must!!!

This was a spur of the moment trip for our one year anniversary. Our schedules are a little tricky to get aligned, so when we knew it would work it was almost too late. Found The Ivey’s through hotels.com, loved the introduction video and looked very promising for an occasion such as this. It was above and beyond in many ways. The pictures were great but still never does the live version justice!!! The staff was amazing throughout our 3 night stay. We got a cute complimentary anniversary card and toast. The 5 Church restaurant attached to the hotel did an even better job of completing our anniversary celebrations. The food there was phenomenal as well as the staff again. Sofia’s restaurant in the atrium side of the hotel was excellent for breakfast and cocktails later on. The library lounge within the hotel rooms was a nice pit stop for drinks before venturing out to the city. I think the only negative would be we didn’t have a microwave to heat our leftovers. Other than that minor detail, we are definitely going to put this as a staple hotel for future travels where we want to splurge and spoil ourselves because you should make sure budget allows for this 5 star experience.

Wonderful hotel, room, and service. Comfortable happy hour bar and great location. Elevator is, well, non-functioning. Valet and general drop off a challenge with nearby construction. That said, we look forward to coming back for a stay some time soon.

    Charming hotel

Adorable hotel. Very centrally located with Tina of amenities. A bit loud due to the nightclub across the street but overall a charming hotel
