On my arrival the hotel didn’t not have any rooms available for me and my kids. Th person working that day help us find a closer hotel available for that day. I end up paying more and the new hotel was horrendous!! Trying to dispute my charge hotel.com is telling me that I canceled my booking. This statement is false I never did but hotel.com got paid for a service I never received!!

Exceptional 10.0
We stayed here 3 different times within a 2 1/2 week period while we were travelling to different parts of Asia since Singapore was our starting and ending point in Asia and we had a time there in between. The front staff were very attentive and friendly and the rooms were great overall. One thing that wasn't good was there is no outlet in the bathroom to plug in the blow dryer and there's no outlet near the mirror in the room to be able to see your hair while styling it. I had to keep the bathroom door open and look 8-10 feet across the room to kind of see in the mirror while styling my hair. It would be great if breakfast was included, but we still are glad that we stayed there. Also, there's only a comforter on the bed to cover up with instead of a top sheet as well, which I would often be a little too warm with the comforter, but I didn't have an option of just covering up with a sheet. The room has great AC, but sometimes you want just a sheet instead of a bulky comforter. It's very conveniently located to the MRT (Subway), bus stops and shops and restaurants.

Fair 4.0
The hotel staff were not helpful or friendly at check-in. I had to carry my own heavy suitcase to my room which was situated at the rear of the hotel and only accessible by two flights of stairs. The room itself was dirty - there was a lot of dust and marks on the wall (it looked that these had been caused by people swatting mosquitoes). The hairdryer didn’t work and the walls were extremely thin meaning that I could hear noises coming from around the hotel and outside (on one evening I was kept awake until 2am from noises coming from below my room). All in all, the rooms do not look like the pictures advertised online and the hotel is extremely overpriced for the quality of the rooms! The only positive thing I can say about Hotel Mono is that it is in a good location - think twice before booking; there are lots of nicer hotels in Singapore for better value!

Exceptional 10.0
I LOVED this hotel. I checked in just after having just stayed at Marina Bay Sands the two nights prior, so my standards were high. Upon walking in, I was amazed at how well designed and amenitized this hotel was. The monotone and minimalist design is so calming. You can't beat the location - this is conveniently located to the Chinatown MRT station. It's constructed in former shophouse buildings, but is fully modernized. I stayed in one of the smallest rooms, which could win awards for efficient design. Light switches and outlets where you can reach them, storage space, great bathroom with full rainfall-syle shower. The shower was amazing. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable - and to be honest, pretty comparable to the 5-star hotel that I had just moved from. Hotel Mono is a definite win. There are restaurants and shops all over Chinatown - Mosque Street is one of the calmer streets (one over from Pagoda Street, which is the main drag), so that's nice.

Budget price with luxury service
This was great value for the price. In the heart of China Town, it is a great location to be within the vibe of this area. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and given that it is more of a budget hotel (in terms of price), we were very pleasantly surprised with the ''luxuries'' we were given as part of our room rate which included fresh bottled water each day, a toiletry bag with essentials in it, again replenished each day and slippers to keep, such a nice touch! The air conditioning in the room was excellent too - much needed in the heat and humidity of the city. It is a no frills hotel yet the whole place is fresh, clean and has a contemporary sleek design. We would stay again.
