Nice Place for Small Budget
Good location for tourists. 500mtr walk to rail. Quiet area. Room on upper story facing street was best of all. Cook meals in communal kitchen.Convienience stores and restaurants nearby. Big supermarket 1 km walk. Ask about street parking rules.

Bed Bug infestation
I've stayed in hundreds of hotels throughout Asia in the last 15 years. I've never encountered a bed bugs. Headboard was full of them. I woke up in the middle of the night covered in bites and when I turned the lights on I saw one on the bed. I immediately checked under the mattress and found something odd. Between the mattress and the box spring were a bunch of leaves. Also, under the bed was a bunch of leaves. When I pulled the bed away from the wall, I saw several more bed bugs crawling on the back of the headboard. In the seams you could see some exit and entry points which were obvious by tons of little black spots. I went to the front desk and they moved me to another room, but the damage had already been done. I had about 100 itchy welts all over my body. I carefully checked the bed in the new room and saw no evidence of bed bugs and also no leaves. I'm assuming the leaves were in the previous room to ward off the bed bugs. Front desk admitted in the morning that the room had bed bugs, but claimed they were from the last guest. All I received was a verbal apology. There is no reason I should not have been reimbursed for such a horrible experience. The fact that there were a bunch of leaves under the bed and the obvious black spots all over the back of the headboard leaves me to believe they knew about the bed bug problem and put me in the room anyway. They said they sprayed the room in the morning. Sorry, but that is not going to get rid of them.

Small guesthouse perfect location
Zen rooms sahabat was in the perfect location for our trip to KL. It is close to all the action in Bukit Bintang but a couple streets back enough so that you can sleep soundly at night. The guesthouse offers toast and cereal in the morning which was a nice bonus. We found the room very small hardly much bigger than the bed. As this was the only place we stayed in we don't know if that's typical for KL or not. However we liked the location so much we extended our 3 day trip to 6 days which gave us lots of time to explore KL.

Clean and quiet Guesthouse in the heart of KL
It's was a short weekend getaway in KL. We chose Zen Rooms based on the large number of positive feedback we saw online, and specifically because of its value-for-money, close proximity to Bukit Bintang shopping and entertainment district, and great service. The hostess Nikki has such a warm hospitable character that made our short stay like home, and wanting to come back again.
