Works fine if you are also a night owl who is up past midnight but would be tough for people who need to go to sleep early. The hotel has very different rooms: some are renovated and nice; some were quite old and ready for the next renovation ;) My bathroom was soo tiny that my body did not realy have the space it needed. But around the corner is the town center and the Weihnachtsmarkt is sooo nice! Breakfast was very good with very nice people caring about you :) All in all: Fair price for it ...and ask for a renovated room if possible ;)

Not a hotel for hot summers

The hotel is 2-3 stars. It was very clean, the room was a good size. BUT: the room I was given overlooked the tramstop outside on Thomas-Mann Strasse. There was no airconditioning, and with temperatures outside of c. 33C, I had a choice of a small amount of fresh air through the top of the window plus incessant tram noise from stopping and starting, or no fresh air and relative silence. It was very difficult to sleep during the first part of the night as a result. When I mentioned this to reception I was told that no airconditioning was a hotel policy, as it would double the electricity costs and reduce sustainability. My .argument that the extra electricity ciould be sourced renewably from wind or PV was ignored. Goopd breakfast (extra cost 12 Eur). .
