Very good 8.0
Ok but charges apply!
Ok but we were charged for the use of the spa facilities as we had arrived before check-in time and were told a £10pp charge was now in effect for guests to use the spa/leisure facilities before check-in & after check-out. We have never been charged to use facilities if we are staying at the hotel so this was a bit of a surprise & was apparently a new charge hence why it wasn’t on any of the booking forms we had received, otherwise nice, clean room & good facilities.

Fair 4.0
Hugely disappointing, I do not recommend
Location excellent; near to a host of restaurants, bars (noisy on a Friday and Saturday night, but that's just Bristol), the Hippodrome and the Harbourside. The building, being an old bank, is stunning. Our room was modern and the mattress comfortable. Complimentary gin, sherry and bottled water. That's where the positives end. This was our first night away in three years and it was totally ruined. We paid a little more for a superior double, rather than a standard. The photos made the room look spacious, with room for a sofa at the foot of the bed. The reality was that there wasn't even room to walk around the bed. I questioned this with hotel staff, they said all of the rooms are different and the photos are representative. Should they not be representative of the room your booking in some small way? Description also listed a bath in the bathroom. There was only a shower, the door did not close properly. There was also a lot of grime around the edges. When questioned, staff acknowledge the listing was incorrect on The room had beautiful tall windows. This meant that we couldnt reach the curtain to put the curtain back on the fixings as some had fallen off, meaning we couldn't get the room fully dark. We didn't get to sleep until gone 1am as the room vibrated from the loud party the hotel was hosting. Room service arrived 20minutes earlier than requested, was cold (dishes not covered), poor qualiy. Bacon undercooked, toast burnt, rubbery egg, single tsp beans.

Exceptional 10.0
Only stayed for the night on a business trip but will definitely be staying again. Arrived to find we had been upgraded to a suite which was a pleasant surprise and the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever had the pleasure to sleep in. Needed a late check out which was no problem (2pm) and situated perfectly with the best Italian restaurant directly opposite (San Carlos). I have a number of trips to Bristol coming up and this will be my go to Hotel.

Great Hotel.
Brilliant location and extremely comfortable. We were upgraded without asking which was generous. Complimentary gin and sherry, Nespresso coffee and pods too. Super shower and bath. As it was Christmas there was a lovely stocking on our door too. Very thoughtful. Reception staff charming. Really enjoyed our 3 night stay. We used the Galleries Car Park as only 5 minute walk.

Good 6.0
Wouldn’t go again
First room did not have WiFi connection so got moved to another room. Other room was accessibility room and had a pungent unpleasant scent in the bathroom. I’m very disappointed because I thought this place would be luxurious.

Poor 2.0
This was o it anniversary break and the amities were all closed on the first night. We travelled up from the south coast to stay at this hotel and wasn’t informed that both bars and restaurant would be closed. I think that this is a bad from hotels.con and the hotel itself. We paid a lot of money to stay here. I would like to speak to someone about refunding part of my hotel stay please

Good 6.0
The room looked great to start with, however. There was no practibilty to the room. It’s too dark to use the large mirror in the room. 1 of the lamps couldn’t be plugged in as the plug didn’t fit. There was not enough plug sockets. The hairdryer could be used but not close enough to the mirror which was too dark to see properly. The kettle either had to be held in place or put on the floor when boiling, neither which are very safe. There is complementary gin and sherry but no tonic in the fridge which isn’t cold. The tbags were very thin on the ground, even when we asked for extra, no extra milk was given! For the price of the room you would expect better, very disappointing to be honest.

Wet room
Stay was good, however we had a disability shower room/wet room which if you used the shower first, meant the room flooded and you couldn’t use the toilet without having to use all your towels and robes to soak up the water which didn’t drain away.we did tell the front desk on three occasions during our two night stay who sent up more towels, but that didn’t fix the problem. Other than that was a very nice stay.
