Worth every dime of staying in Lake in Como
This family run hotel, atop the mountain, has lovely views of Lake Como from the private garden. What makes it special is how Gaia, the owner, take the effort to ensure that your stay is a great one. It is affordable, comfortable, clean - perfect for travellers. We stayed for 2 nights, and had great sleep. Breakfast was lovely - coffee prepared fresh upon sitting down, with a nice array of food.

The room was basic, but the court yard at Andrivieni Bellagio Guest House had amazing views. The view of the sun set was amazing. We really enjoyed our breakfast in the court yard with a majestic view of Lake Como. It was awesome sitting in the peaceful courtyard gazing at the stars as well. Getting to the hotel was a rough uphill walk, especially if you have luggage. The Inn Keeper was very nice.

The guest house room was comfortable and clean and seemed recently renovated. The main reason why I would not recommend this property is that it is hard to reach: while the distance to the center or ferry terminal is < 2km, it is all stairs and hills (more than 200 stairs alone)...and there are NO restaurants or cafes near the property. Worse, it is practically impossible to get taxis or ubers to get rides between the town and the property. For both arriving and leaving the property we had to make countless calls to different taxi service before we found one that was willing to give us an (overpriced) ride; before we got to the property we did not know about the stairs but once we got there it was obvious that there is NO way we would have made it (without risking serious injury) with our suitcases if it wasn't for the taxi. While the front desk staff is really nice, they were of no help in getting taxis...simply admitting defeat in their attempts to secure a taxi. On the plus side the terrace is lovely and I spent many hours sitting there reading a book because I was too lazy to actually brave the stairs to actually go down to Bellagio center :-)

Lovely stay
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here. The owner and receptionist were so sweet and accommodating. The views from the garden were amazing. I would recommend staying here. One thing to mention is the lack of taxi drivers and it being a little difficulty to get to the property when you have a lot of luggages. If they offer arrangement for transportation from the ferry to the property take the offer because taxis are hard to come by in the morning.
