It was very rustic - like. There wasn't to do - didn't like.

Excellent value for money - the dinner and breakfast that were included were great and we enjoyed the family style dinner with other guests. The accommodations are basic and a little rustic but for the price you pay we were very satisfied.

What a special place! One cool newer addition is an observation platform so you can watch the sun set and scan for leopards! The camp is so peaceful and comfortable and meals were exceptional! Speaking of meal, our first few moments of a morning game drive we found a leopard in a tree eating breakfast with hyena underneath waiting for scraps. Everything about this place and the people who work here was wonderful!

The staff here all go out of their ways to please. The food is decent, and the luxury tent gives you a nice experience of roughing it in Africa — combined with appreciated basic amenities that you wouldn’t get if you were actually roughing it! The game safari ride they offer (for an additional fee) showed us lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants, Impalas, giraffes, and more! Very good value for the money.

Well designed tents with very comfortable beds. Showers worked fine, solar powered lighting was just lovely. We were there in August - very cold at night (need wholly hats & gloves, especially for the early morning safari). Surrounded by the bush, just on the other side of the fence from the reserve. Staff very friendly. Patrick the safari guide was great - very knowledgable and professional. Highly recommended.

It is so much better than amazing, it's the real deal. Rustic, but if you want a real African Safari this is the place. We took the evening Safari and it was an awesome experience. Don't let the affordable price scare you away...it was priceless.

Great overnight stay, close to Kruger, heard lions crunching on a kill during the night next to the fence.

Good experience but my fault for not realizing it would be hot in the tent with no air movement. Check in was smooth. Greeted nicely Dinner was good nothing special. We left at 5am for Kruger and had arranged for a packed breakfast to go which we picked up from the security guard. All in all a nice visit but like other reviews stated it is not for everyone. I think it would be better in cooler weather.

Very good experience for tented-camp, with as much comfort as needed for a city family to make it through a couple of days in the wilderness.

I'll start by saying that the Wild Olive Tree would not be to everyone's taste. It's a bit rustic but that was the charm for us. We struggled to find accommodation that wasn't super posh and overly priced in Kruger and Wild Olive Tree totally suited our style and expectations. From the moment we arrived everyone who worked there was super kind. The food was quite nice - though at breakfast some pesky monkeys stole the yogurt from the common table! Dinner was served at communal tables and it was nice to get to speak to other travelers. The best part of our stay, however, was our safaris we had booked with Wild Olive Tree. We did an evening safari and a morning safari and both were incredible. Patrick, our guide, took us through Manyeleti Reserve which shares an unfenced border with Kruger. So as Patrick said, "if you can see the animals in Kruger you can see them here". And, wow, what amazing animals we saw. I would highly recommend you stay at the Wild Olive Tree if you want a low key local experience. And you must book the safaris! One last note, the only down side was the hot water was too hot in the shower for me to use. It seemed to be either hot or cold but that was a small inconvenience in an otherwise great stay.

This is a campsite, don't come if you want a hotel or electricity. Come for safaris as you cannot get closer to the park. The Manyeleti has everything for you to see. The camp is an eco camp run by the tribespeople for the tribe. Great idea and it will slowly develop. One hopes it stays true to it's principles. There is a nice pool. Food is good and tasty. Staff are lovely. Sit around the camp fife after dinner with a glass of wine discussing that day's safaris, bliss!
