Cozy little hotel with several facility issues
Overall, it is a cosy little boutique hotel with pleasant decoration and welcoming character. Although we were not happy at all with the facilities, the staff was so great, friendly, hospitable that compensated for the issues with the facility itself. The hotel and rooms have several issues that you must be aware of. The hotel is on the far edge of Getsemani, almost a kilometre away from the walled historic center and quite a walk in hot and humid weather. I had not realized this when I booked it. I would have preferred to book somewhere closer to the old city but still in Getsmani as it is very nice and less touristy than the walled city. We had booked the room with a view but it was a mistake. The room opens in the upper floor terrace which is an outside sitting area for all guests and also used by some guests for breakfast. So you can understand that the first people who would come for breakfast would wake us up. The rooms, the bathroom and bed are very small, and we kept hitting our feet and knees on the wooden bed rim. The air condition was dripping on our heads and pillow and there was one tiny window looking into the terrace. Right above us was a bar and Jacuzzi which played music in early afternoon so again sleeping during siesta was an issue. Staff and receptionists were absolutely wonderful. Also, we do recognize that the management tried to make the best of what they have, but overall, we felt that we paid too much for this accommodation.
