Average hostel
I had high expectations of this hostel after reading the reviews but for me it was pretty average, location was good, facilities ok, dorms a bit Small, this hostel lacks character which is in part due to its size, the staff were helpful but a member of their security team who's name was Jason was very aggressive towards me 1 night because I wasn't sure how to get back into the hostel after hour's (it was my 1st night) and after I politely mentioned He didn't need to be so aggressive He got worse and threatened me which was laughable but I'd be worried about the reputation of the hostel with people like that associated with it also I didn't get an apology from him which summed up his attitude, regardless of that situation I would still recommend another hostel in Sydney- Sydney Harbour YHA looks amazing and certainly can't be beat for location so check it out instead.

Great short stay
Chose this hotel due to cost and location as I was going out with friends and live in Wollongong and didn't want to travel home late. I enjoyed my stay.. Had all I needed. Was quiet as they gave me a south facing room at the end of a corridor.. Only complaint is the lack of easy access stairs to move between the floors

Great But.....
It was a nice hostel with good service. Free wifi and computer access in the lobby and Power point/charging stations for laptops and phones were available in the lobby and in rooms. It wasn't 24 hour check in per se. You still had to wait till around 11 as long as the room was ready you could go in. each room had lockers available (byo locks). The rooms and bathroom facilities were clean and modern. The hostel is literally around the corner from Central station. The reason I am giving an overall AVERAGE feedback is because I can't seem to understand why a backpackers needs to lock the kitchen area between 10pm and 6am. Most backpackers I've been to have the kitchens open 24 hours as long as you don't make noise after hours. I wasn't able to get back home till after 10pm so I ducked into a woolworths for a salad and mousse but when I got back to the hostel the kitchen was closed. No other place for finding utensils and refrigeration. Lucky that I had thought of buying disposable spoons but I still ended up dumping my ceasar salad I had bought which needed prep. Please consider keeping the kitchen open 24 hours then maybe I'll think of coming back. I know there's cafes and restaurants in the area but most people that use backpackers are trying to live on a budget and part of that includes reduced food expenses by cooking for themselves.

Exceptional 10.0
Overall Best Hostel in Sydney CBD.
I have been to almost 10 hostel in Sydney and I would say Wake Up is the best. It's clean, it's big. My favourite part is the reception. It is like a customer service public office but with a lot of computers that guest can use. Also like a library with tables ready for your computers and phones to charges. The free internet connection is fast.
